About two weeks ago I guess our 6 year old came home from school with a runny nose and a croupy cough. Lasted a few days and stopped. Then I started in with a dry raspy croupy cough and started using cough drops. After a few days of that I started getting a whole bunch of mucous with it(lovely right?). After about a day of that the left side of my face started hurting so I figured I was getting a sinus infection and called my ob to see what was safe to take over the counter. That night I went to bed(wednesday night) and woke up around midnight with the worst ear pain I have ever felt in my life. I think I slept in maybe 10-15 min increments with a good hour in between all night long. Alarms went off in the am to get the kids up and to school Thursday morning and after they were out, DH took me to the dr and right away she goes oh yeah bad ear infection and upper respiratory.
So I am now on amoxicillin and tylenol for 10 days. I can't hear out of my left ear it is so filled with fluid. I've been on meds now for 3 full days and of course my first dose this morning and it doesn't really seem to be getting better. Most of the pain is gone but thats about it. I am so ready to just start feeling more normal again and being able to hear would be nice too.
I'm sorry that you are so sick! That is awful under the best of circumstances, let alone when you are pregnant and can't take much. I hope that you start feeling much better soon! I think that the fact that your pain is going away is a very good sign that the antibiotics are working, even though you still don't feel well. Get lots of rest, and feel better soon!
