My appt was at 1030 this morning, I got there at 1015. My blood pressure was 114/73, I lost ANOTHER pound, pulse was 83 I think. I peed in a cup and went and sat in the waiting room. And sat there. And sat there. And sat there. Finally someone comes out and says everyone waiting is waiting for Dr Jones and she had to go deliver a baby. (My OB office is in a wing of the hospital.) Some rescheduled, some saw someone else but I, of course, HAD to see Dr Jones (that's what they said anyway). So I waited. Aaaaaand waited. I got up and asked the receptionist if she could ask the nurse the results of my 3 hr GD test and she looked it up in the computer and I passed! WOOT!
At 1230 they called me back to the u/s room...and I sat there. And sat there. And sat there. LMAO Finally Dr Jones comes in, she said that I did pass the 3 hr test but for "people like me", we produce bigger babies and I might need to watch my carbs. Then she asked if I exercised. I said no, she said I need to walk or swim, just a small amount each day. I said something about my weight coming down and down and down and she's like...well you're probably just eating better. I don't think I'm eating better - maybe less and definitely less soda and more water, so I left it alone. She started up the u/s. I asked if she could check to see if it was still a girl and we got two good shots of girl-ness down there, so...definitely a girl! She switched it to 3D and I couldn't tell what in the WORLD I was looking at. She was laughing because the baby was folded up, her knee was at her nose..her legs going straight up, her arm was going across her head. She had to point out what was what, but when I saw it, I understood the rest of the scan. She finally moved her legs a bit, but kept her arm up near her head the whole time. She tried to get the heartrate, but every time she'd measure a little, the baby would kick the wand. She finally got a reading... said you've got a really active baby! I said I know, she loves to kick. (just recently she's gotten powerful enough to knock my arm off my stomach while I'm resting). She said the baby has a really "round" head (DH has a round head like that) and it looked like she has my nose.. but her CHEEKS...her cheeks are so big! If ONE PERSON PINCHES MY LITTLE GIRLS CHEEKS I WILL SMACK THEM. I HATED having people grab my cheeks.
So, the baby is fine. I asked her how come so many people know the "weight" of the baby and she said that's a special u/s and/or they can tell sometimes just by messing with your stomach. She didn't mess with mine...haha. Anyway, baby is fine, measuring good. Fluid is good. AND I wasn't dehydrated! WOOT!
I'll post some pics later on tonight. I go back in two weeks. I can't believe I'm on every other week appts already!
