So far I've actually lost a couple of pounds from my pre-pregnancy weight, but my jeans were cutting into my waist so much that I took them off and put on some drawstring shorts. How soon is too soon to break out the maternity stuff???
I don't know, I was going to ask you btdt moms when to start stocking up on maternity clothes. My weight is also down, but my belly is out of control...with bloat. Even DH is noticing when I have my clothes on. By the end of the day I'm having to un-button. I bought a bella band today. I didn't think at 4 weeks 3 days I would have this problem. But since I don't have many symptoms...I will happily accept this bloat.
I haven't had a viable pregnancy yet, so .. I have no idea. However, a friend of mine is due on the same day as me and she's already back into her maternity clothes.
I'm still holding off, my work pants stay unbuttoned though..and when I get home, I strip immediately into something more comfortable.
When I was preg with T, I think I was able to stay in my normal clothes until about 15 weeks, which is why I'm kind of laughing/freaking out now. It's definitely bloat in my case too, plus I think my stomach muscles are just like "screw it, letting go NOW!" Haha, I keep telling myself that if I can just hold out for another month, I'll be almost in my second trimester and that seems reasonable....but a month sure sounds like a loooong time....lol
with my last pregnancy I didn't even make it to 8 weeks when I had to stop wearing anything with a regular waistband, I looked pregnant about 10 weeks

Me too! I am excessively bloated in the evenings, which isn't working out so well in my tight jeans. My pants come off as soon as I get home in the evening, and I just hang out in my underwear if no one else is coming over. I'll probably switch to sweat pants now that it's getting colder. I have a few pairs of pants that are bigger in the waist anyways, so I'll have to dig them out of the bottom drawers.
I think I'm going to invest in a couple of bella bands too.. I always layer clothes so that my bottom later covers the top of my pants anyways, no one will notice the difference.. makes it easier to hide the hair band that I wrap around the button and button hole to keep my pants together without them being uncomfortably tight. I can't wait until the bloat is gone and the really belly begins, because right now, I just feel FAT.

I didn't buy a bella band a few days ago because I thought it was just me. However, I have been dealing with bloating since before I found out from all the IVF meds so I've been ignoring it. By the end of the day I'm pretty bloated!! I went to the Gap outlet and bought a pair of yoga pants for 12 bucks and they are my new best friends. I already have some pants that barely fit! I have no idea what I will do work work in a couple of weeks because I don't want to buy any maternity pants yet.
With my first, I didn't start wearing maternity until 20ish weeks I think, but I did the whole rubber band thing for awhile. I had a bella band but I never liked it very much, ended up letting a friend borrow it and I'm not sure what she did with it.
Not much bloat here and no weight loss either. :/ I usually lose 5-10lbs in the first trimester and I'm sure I will when the m/s sets in more.
I've had friends start wearing maternity/looking pregnant as early as 8-10 weeks, especially with second/third/fouth babies.
I think I'm going to go on my lunch hour today and get a bella band type thing from the maternity store close to my work. Luckily a lot of my work pants (which are baggier than my jeans) still seem to fit okay, but I officially have no jeans that fit confortably right now. I think a bella band would be a good compromise.
So in that boat. I wore a pair of work pants yesterday came home and promptly changed into a drawstring pair of capris....only the one pair of work pants so far are tight fitting. I made it to almost 6 months with my pg with Tony before I had to start buying bigger clothes. Doesn't look like i'll be getting that lucky this time around.
