So I went to my weekly OB appointment yesterday. The good news - Rocket's HR is great and I didn't gain any weight from last week (my dr was pleased because he said that means I'm probably not retaining a ton of water.)
The bad news is that my BP was even higher. Luckily, it went down a little bit when they had me lay on my side and they retook it, but the doc said that we will watch it and if there comes a point where it doesn't go down when I'm laying down, or if I get other symptoms like headaches or dizziness, then we will talk about inducing me right away.
Then, he checked my cervix. Per my doc, I am 2 cm dialated, 75% effaced, and my "bag of waters is bulging" which he said means that I "could go at any time." It's such deja vu, because this is exactly what happened with T, too. We checked my chart, and with T I went in at 36.5 weeks, and I was 2-3 cm dialated and 80% effaced, and I went into labor like 5 days later. Apparently once you are 2 cm dialated, real labor can begin at any time. He did say that it's not a guarantee, that I could go tonight or last another 2 weeks, but he said that my body is DEFINITELY gearing up for labor at this point. He also said that he won't try to stop the labor from this point on, because at 36 weeks and especially being a big baby (for 36 weeks) Rocket should be fine. Which is fine I guess, but I have set a goal for myself that I will NOT go into labor until at least next Tuesday when I will be 37 weeks. (LOL, I know, I know, there is no way for me to really control it, but hey, embrace the power of positive thinking.)
He also said that it's unlikely they will need to induce given everything that my body is doing, but if they DID have to induce (because of my blood pressure) then my body is already a good candidate for doing it and not needing a c-section because I'm already effaced and dialated enough that it wouldn't be a problem. I still don't want to induce if we don't have to, but I was happy to hear that if we do have to make that decision, at least the odds are in my favor that I won't have to have a c-sec. I don't know why exactly, but the idea of a c-section TERRIFIES me.
So that's me. Everyone send me "Rocket stay put until Tuesday" vibes, okay!
