Night out?

Since I'm a whole month behind a lot of you ladies, I thought you might indulge me. Has anyone besides Jessica had a night out or day out away from baby? I'm not really sure I could handle being away from my little guy yet, but I dream about it. I would really just love to go out to eat and have a mojito already dang it....even if I could take Henry with me. The general public is not prepared for this little man's screaming. We have our first outing all planned though. There is a Mexican restaurant across the street from our place that has patio seating. So we figure we can go and if he starts to scream, one of us could just walk home with him. We might try this next weekend, he will be 5 weeks, what do you think?

It can't hurt to try! There aren't any nights out in my future. I'd be too tired anyway. I was asleep by 7:30 last night, lol.

I love the idea of just being able to walk home without the fuss of someone waiting in the car or whatever! Sounds like its definitely worth a shot. Another idea is to bring a nursing cover (or don't if you're comfortable without it.) With T I used to go nurse in the car if we got caught out and he got hungry. With Reid, I don't know if I can even remember all of the public places I have nursed at this point. Anyway, I say go for it. If anyone deserves a night out, it's you.

I haven't had a baby free night out yet, but I was just telling DH that I am beyond ready for one. Now I just need to find a babysitter!

I went out this past weekend. Lunch and matinee. Left him with my mother in law and he slept lost of the time. Go for it! I'm sure you need some time to just be out for a little while. Enjoy Smile

We had an anniversary party at about 4 weeks. They stayed home with MIL and FIL. I get nervous leaving them with most people except my MIL when they are this little.

We haven't had a night out, but I have left Kylie with my mom while I went grocery shopping.
When Henry has his fussy times have you tired just going outside with him? Maybe just a change of scenery for him? He might like that when you go to the patio. Lots of different things to look at and sounds to hear. I know my DS had about 2 hours at the same time every day where all he would do is cry and all we had to do was step outside and he stopped. He still to this day loves being outside.

That's true, Jill. That is what I do with Reid when he gets fussy during the late afternoon/early evening before bed-we go outside and I make sure to hold him facing outward so he can see. Calms him right down. Hopefully the patio would do the same for Henry.

Oh we go to the park a couple days a week. He does like it outside. When I can't make it to the park..we walk around the neighborhood. Once he started screaming and one of my neighbors came out and was freaking out on me. She was screaming from her balcony that I needed to change his diaper and feed him. I'm like duh lady, I've already done that.

I'd totally at least try. I thought of her all night and cried like three times that night because I missed her. I'm going to be worthless the first few days at work....haha.

I'm mad someone was screaming at you out of her window about changing the baby LOL ..... geez, we get crap comments while pregnant and then crap comments when have the baby.

We left Judah with some friends last week. I just left a bottle with her - it was time for him to eat right when we left. Apparently he was easy and perfect and it was great to have a quiet dinner together.
Our anniversary is coming up and DH wants to get away for a weekend but of course that's not happening!
