Yeah the whole "months" thing is so confusing. But I'm excited that we are all getting so close. I'm due at the end of the month, so I have a bit longer of a wait. I'm hoping this baby stays an April baby, but I'm telling myself I'm due on May 9th just in case I make it to 42 weeks.
Ha Elizabeth, I'm the opposite! I am convinced this baby will go early (for NO reason other than because T did) so I tell everyone I'm due "at the end of March". A little rounding, is all. LOL
Don't you guys know you are actually pregnant for 10 months (longer if you go past 40 weeks!).
My doc said she would most likely not want me to go past 39 weeks, which makes the last week of March seem like it is not too far away.
Cristan, I've always thought it funny that women are pregnant for almost 10 months, but when you hear about pregnancy it's 9 months. Regardless, we're plowing on through!!
I was thinking the same thing. Because if I count backwards from my due date, that would mean I would be turning 6 months on January 25th. But I stick with the weekly count...hurts my brain less.Quote:

I think I figured out how it works out to 9 months though. If you count from your conception date to a little past your due date, that is 9 months. Example, I think I conceived on or around July 10. So from July 10 - Aug 10 = 1 month
Aug 10 = 1
Sep 10 = 2
Oct 10 = 3
Nov 10 = 4
Dec 10 = 5
Jan 10 = 6
Feb 10 = 7
March 10 = 8
April 10 (8 days after my due date) = 9
That makes my head hurt just becuase it's so far off from the weekly counting, I have a hard time reconciling the 2.
I just think of it as the baby is due at the END of the 9th month.
My timing rational is about like this.. unofficially of course.. :lol:
When I have a MASSIVE breakdown that I can't breath.. eat.. poop.. sleep.. work or keep swelling away, it'll be about time. :biglaugh:
But I'm just as obsessed, literally. :oops:
I say regularly "I cant believe how fast its going by!" I'm only 6 months this past monday. Yay for 7 months!!! Its crazy! :)
I felt like I was pregnant with my son forever...literally...it was like never ending. Then DH looks at me today and goes Holy **** we only have 13 weeks left. Where has the time gone? I mean I could say that because I have my 6 year old that i'm more focused on him and that is what is making time fly, but...my step son lived with us full time when I was pregnant with my son and the hubby was in the Navy so I was just as busy taking care of him as I am taking care of the two of them now, and that throws that whole way of thinking right out the window. lol
