I am feeling seriously traumatized right now. T (my four year old son) was just eating dinner and suddenly sneezed out a HUGE glob of snot. Then he holds his hand up and said "I just sneezed out a bead!" Sure enough, he had a bead in his hand. I asked him when he had put the bead up his nose, and he said he did it at daycare. He only goes to daycare on Tuesdays and Thursdays!!!! He has NEVER put anything up his nose or in his ear before (that I know of) and now I'm all freaked out that he's going to do it again and hurt himself (even though he promised to never ever do that again. What on earth possesses kids to put random crap up their noses???

When my brother was younger..I think he was 3, we had to put everything small and round up so he couldn't reach it. He was shoving EVERYTHING up his nose. Or eating it. I was in high school at the time - I had mechanical pencils (I hate regular pencils) and he CHEWED the eraser off, which then let the lead slide out...so he took that and was trying to put it up his nose, but it kept sticking him!
My little sister stuff a small potpourri ball up her nose, she had to go to the doctor and they tried to vacuum it out. Ended up getting it out with long tweezers I think. I think kids just do it!
I just jumped out of a shopping cart and busted my head open and had to go to the hospital.
