People are too funny!
People get really anxious when you are expecting. I feel like a ticking time bomb with all these comments, text messages and facebook messages asking how I'm feeling. It doesn't bother me but I think its funny. So I thought I'd share some of these comments...
1) MIL- "have they changed your due date?" LOLOLOL
2) My dad every time I call him before he even says hello-"Is he here yet?"
3) Random people on fb-"Can't wait to see pics of your little one on Thursday"
4) My work everytime I touch my belly-"Are you having a contraction"...why yes, yes I am...can I go home? LOL
5) Friend that is doing newborn photos-"Can we setup a time to do newborn pics sometime mid morning on May 4th?"
6) All my work clients when they call my office "Still here, eh?"
7) DH's friends-All of them have called offering boys nights out since they think his life is ending this week. Haha.
I go back and forth between being ok being pregnant for 42 weeks and being anxious about it. I was planning on working today (Sunday) but I read "Ina May" and "Birthing from Within" last night and I think I need to take a chill pill and physical and psychological state...so I'm off to buy the last bits of yarn to finish Henry's baby blanket!!!
Sounds like everyone else is as prepared for his arrival as you are. :) Your dad sounds funny.. asking if he's here before even saying hello.
Can we see pics of the blanket in progress? I'm envious of people who are crafty with yarn. :D
Haha, I got a lot of those comments as well. I had to call my mom at work for something which I NEVER do and she was freaking out when she answered the phone. "What's wrong? Are you okay? Is the baby here?" LOL
Good for you for taking the day off!!
Those are some awesome comments LOL. At least you have a cute belly and not an enormous one, so nobody asks if you are having twins :) Happened to me this week.
Those reasons are why with this one...I just said I was due at the end of May/beginning of June and left it at that...so people wouldn't have a good idea of when to harass!
The fb comments are my favorite. I think you're gonna be in trouble if you can't produce pics on Thursday! Lol
I know right? I guess people are just so used to being induced at 38 weeks around here. People think I'm crazy when I tell them I'm going to hold out to 42 weeks if I have to. Haha.
Texas sounds like a strange foreign country - people are induced at 38 weeks? And I know you've gotten a lot of flack about having a midwife as well.
Yeah I just said I was due in late April. I still got the "you're still pregnant" comments anyway though.
And yes, people think you're a walking time bomb. Wait until you're in the grocery store and someone asks your due date and you say "Oh, a couple days ago." That's always fun. :D
I think its just the people I know more than it being a Texan thing. I'm fairly certain the majority of the Austin hippies are down for natural pregnancies and births.
Oh and I've gotten the grocery store comment. I love too when people tell you that you shouldn't be walking so much, I'm like thats exactly what I'm supposed to be doing.
