So I am a big gal! I started this pregnancy at 286 lbs (I am only 5'6"). Thankfully, I gained only a few pounds during the entire pregnancy. I weighed in at 290 the morning of my C-section on 3/21.
This morning I am at 264. I was loosing 3lbs a day since I have been home, but I was at 265 yesterday so I think the excess water weight and swelling is now gone.
I hope the pounds continue to come off easily. I wonder how many calories are burned when creating breast milk?
Anyone else shrinking now the baby is born?
I got down to my lowest weight since high school last time when I was nursing T. That and jogging 3 times a week (very slowly, I hate jogging, it's just the quickest most effective workout I know of, since you can be out and back and get a very decent calorie burn in 1/2 an hour) were all I needed to put me in a smaller size of clothing. Unfortunately I went back to my normal weight after I stopped breastfeeding, but I'm hoping that if I'm more careful about my diet too this time around it will be easier to maintain. I read somewhere that breastfeeding burns about 500 cals a day!!
i haven't weighed myself since I had R, but I'm definitely shrinking at least from my pregnant form. It's funny because I'm used to seeing my pregnant body, so even my still puffy post partum body looks positively tiny! I think DH thinks so too. He keeps grabbing my butt. Lol!
I think I was thinner than usual for a while after giving birth to DD1 and while breastfeeding-the breastfeeding does burn a ton of calories. I didn''t lose tons of weight though as I am a piggy and eat way too much, lol! And I gained back any lost weight when I stopped breastfeeding. I am hoping I can be better about my diet this time around and maybe lose more weight and not gain it back. It should help that I will be on maternity leave over the summer instead of the winter this time so I will be able to go outside and walk. As long as I don't eat back all the calories in ice cream!
It was definitely easier for me to lose the weight with the first than the second. I had to work a little harder with my second, probably because people kept bringing yummy meals with all sorts of desserts and such...
I'm hoping to get back into shape after this baby; I tend to keep 5lbs on each baby so I'd love to get back to my first pre-pregnancy weight.
So cool that you are losing so fast though!!
I actually have not weighed myself yet. I was waiting for swelling to go down and planned to tomorrow. I am miserable with 6 weeks of no exercise but I can start walking and watching my food and such
come on! Somebody else get on the scale!!
I don't remember loosing much with Sam while breastfeeding, so I am hoping this one is different.
Aimee, I hear ya! I haven't done a single cardio workout since January 28th of LAST year. That was the day I wrecked my knee skiing. between the knee injury and a high risk pregnancy, I have been a total lump on the couch.
I have made a lot of dietary changes, so here's hoping an melt off the pounds once I am cleared to finally work out!
oh, and I was 263 this morning!
Haha, I think I'm too chicken to weigh myself yet because of all of the Easter chocolate and cheesecake I've eaten in the past week, but I will say that my "period jeans" now fit. I have this pair of jeans that is especially roomy that I like to wear when I'm feeling big and bloated (hence, "period jeans.") I am wearing them today because I'm so sick of wearing maternity pants that no longer fit or sweats. They aren't as roomy as they used to be, but they aren't uncomfortable so I'm calling it a success.
