Prayers for a friend...

So..one of my really good friends went to the doctor today because she was feeling feverish for the past week or so. Well, they found out she has an enlarged spleen and enlarged lymph nodes "down there". There could be 100 different reasons as to why her spleen is enlarged and some of them aren't horrible, but some are. She was freaking out when she called me so I went over there. She's very concerned it might be cancer. She's only 33. I tried to be uplifting and take her mind off it. She gets blood work done tomorrow and goes back next Tuesday to go over the results.

Please pray for her. She's been dealt a pretty crappy hand so far and this is just one more thing on top of it all....

I will pray for her. Cancers do not usually cause fevers, so hopefully its a simple infection that can be cleared up with meds.

Oh no! You're poor friend. I hope they can figure it out and it turns out to be an easy fix. I will definitely keep her in my thoughts.

I've had an enlarged spleen for over 5 years and I'm still kickin! Biggrin I did have to go see a cancerous blood type Dr. (specialized in bone cancer or something.. IDK it's been a while lol.. ) and he reviewed my blood work but after 9-12 months of monitoring, he released me.. Basically, I just have to do everything in my power to not get hit on my side so it doesn't rupture. Sometimes things happen for absolutely no reason at all but they become the "norm" as we age..

I'll certainly have her in my prayers because I know how she feels! And it's scary.. KUP if you can.. :bigarmhug:

Thanks ladies Smile

Adriana, it's weird you mention that.. She said she's been having the same "pain" in the same spot for years and years and they said NOW it's her spleen but she's always just thought it was achy muscles. I'm trying to lean her towards - if it's been years and years and nothing else has happened yet, then maybe it'll be ..just an enlarged spleen. Oh I'm so glad you posted that (((((Hugs)))))

That stinks! Hopefully it's nothing serious and something that she can just learn to manage like Adriana!

Same exact thing here!!! I was hit by a drunk driver a couple of years earlier so when I went to the Dr., I thought I was just having residual pain from that accident.. she did routine scans thinking she was going to simply see my out of alignment body. I was shocked when she called to tell me her findings! We were looking for one thing but found a complete other.. (and a fatty liver.. but I digress Lol ) The crappy thing is that while it hurts from time to time, it becomes manageable. You learn what to NOT do because it aggravates it. For me, it's standing in the same spot for too long.. or being on my feet where I've put weight on my left side for too long.

Honestly, it's not a huge deal so long as you LISTEN to your body.. it will talk to you and tell you when things are not right. I'm glad she got into the Dr. She listened to what her body was telling her!

If she has any questions, please feel free to relay them! Smile I'll answer what I can! Hope she's doing a-ok!! Smile
