What is a hobby you wish you had more time for?
Cross stitching or cooking...
Crochet/Knit. I am actually crocheting Henry's baby blanket as I type. But I don't have much time for it. I would also love to cook more, take spanish classes so I don't lose it completely, and read more books besides the ones I study from.
Honestly, I've never had a "real" hobby. I LOVE to read, but only certain things. I don't really like to sew and I'm not artistic at all, so I can't draw and/or do crafts. I guess the one thing I really like to do is play board games. I like playing video games too, but with board games you kind of have to interact with everyone around you - plus more than one or two people can usually play.
I almost ALWAYS lose, but I do enjoy the games DH and I get to play occasionally.
I wish my hobby was cleaning. Hahahahaha!
I sit and look around the house and think, this needs to be cleaned and that needs to be dusted and the vaccuum needs to be ran. I feel like the only thing lately i'm keeping up with is dishes. I go to my mom and dads to do laundry since we have to pay for it here at our complex($3 per full load-wash and dry) and I find that difficult to keep up with. I can go to my moms with 5 loads of laundry and within 2 days feel like i'm already behind. I can't wait until we can move out of here and get our own washer and dryer back. But then I look at the boys in this house...13 year old and DH are playing video games and my 6 year old is on the computer and I think..why the heck should I be the one doing all this? And i'm tired of ranting on them to get crap done...so it just doesn't. LOL
Jill, you and I are on the same page. I do the dishes - and only because I'm usually standing in front of the stove while I cook anyway, so I load up the dishwasher and wash whatever won't fit in there. I wash clothes, sometimes they make it into the dryer - and they rarely ever make it OUT of the dryer LOL
I have hardwood floors and there's constantly stuff all over them. I have to sweep because my vacuum keeps bumping into things and sucking up things it shouldn't. I can spend a couple hours getting stuff done around here - kitchen, laundry, sweeping - and DH comes home, takes off his shoes and sits back on the couch and watches TV for a couple hours while I get his dinner together..then he goes to bed. Usually, I'm okay with it. I get home WAY before home and his job is manual labor while mine is not, but..lately, with me feeling like crap all the time, I really wish I had some help. Even if he would just cook dinner one night. Or even grab it on the way home! He wants to get this massive fish tank - and all I can think is that'll be another thing I'm gonna have to take care of. If I gotta clean something, I want a pool LOL
Ugh looks like we are all in the same boat on the cleaning. One thing I loved about laundromats is you could get it all done in 2 hrs rather than the all day changing and folding etc... And why do men and woman view cleaning so different... Like if I clean kitchen I do all counters and stuff first and then sweep and wash floor... DH starts with the floor... I don't get it cuz then stuff falls from counter to floor and grrrr
DH also feels we need to relax a lot which I get but like then nothing gets done which adds to my stress level... And by time I get whole house cleaned the first thing is dirty again rather than doing it all at once!!!
Cake decorating.. Started it one day on a whim and found out I was pretty dang good at it. Unfortunately, the attention to detail I give makes each cake take 8-10 hours start to finish.
I wish I had more time to do scrap booking. I love to scrapbook!
Cross stitch or crocheting/making things for people and reading which I could make time for really but I just run out of good books.
