Red Raspberry Leaf tea?

Anyone drinking red raspberry leaf tea? Ive read that some people start drinking this early on in pregnancy and some people start when they are full term. I bought some, but I am too scared to drink it bc I think it was cause me to go into labor. Silly I am sure. But I think I will wait a bit longer. Its suppose to support uterine health. I mainly just want something hot to drink again beside mint and ginger tea. I hear its nasty though, so maybe Im better off waiting.

I've been drinking a pregnancy tea which has some red raspberry in it, I think. I would talk to your doctor or midwife before drinking anything herbal. I'm going to ask my midwife tomorrow about any supplements.

I feel like I did a RRL supplement or something instead...

Ok found a post on the Birthing Naturally board about it: http://www.pregnancy.org/bulletinboards/birthing-naturally-496/red-raspberry-leaf-702974/

So 2 capsules/day and then when you hit full term you can start doing evening primrose oil (EPO - also capsules) orally and even vaginally (they are like Vitamin e so it just absorbs, do it at night though right before bed so it stays in there ;).

I *think* I may have started RRL at 35 weeks and EPO at 37 weeks? I do know that my cervix was nice a ready weeks before baby came so I think it helped. I don't know if I ever took it orally, I know I did vaginally and my m/w said "stick as many up there as you want if you want this baby to come out!!"

Anyway, I'm not a tea drinker so the capsules were way easier for me.

Yeah I meant to ask my midwife last time but I forgot. I need to call. My friend told me her midwife recommended it around 32 weeks. She also said that her midwife told her to take echinacea, vit E, and garlic supplements to help the flora stay healthy and protect against GBS. So Im going to ask about those too.

I've never heard of the herbs for GBS. I've always been negative on that so I never worry about it too much.
My friend and midwife recommend 5W by Nature's Sunshine as well. I haven't ever taken it but it has a lot of "induction" herbs in it so I might try it. Although I tried naturally inducing twice last time around (because the nurse who had to deliver the baby was more available on the weekends) it didn't do any good so who knows...
