Today she had a followup apt for her tongue tie, the dr felt it was severe so he went ahead and clipped it. So far so good. she weighs 11 lbs 3 oz and is 22 3/4 inches long now. The dr mentioned with how severe her tongue tie was that he was surprised we were still nursing because most babies cannot nurse well with it.
She is doing good, can move her tongue well now and it isn't bugging as much when she nurses, She isn't clicking like she was either which could make things uncomfortable, yesterday i was giving her tylenol every 4-5 hrs but that was making her pretty sleepy so today im just going on her mood whether she needs any. I do think she is nursing better now and isn't making as much of a mess, she still pulls off when the flow is too fast for her but i think that things are def gonna go the right direction now.
Wow, I'm surprised your nipple is still intact! Haha. My nips hurt and we don't have a tongue tie issue, I've had it checked 4x now. Good thing they caught it though. I also have a fast flow issue on my left side. They say a nipple shield can help with that, but I find it doesn't really help at all. We just take a lot of breaks and I make sure he is wearing a bib when he eats on that side.
