    Default Thrush

Well we are entering our first and hopefully will be our only battle with it. A couple days ago i noticed when sadie was yawning that her tongue looked like it had some cottage cheese on it but just a slight bit, tried to wipe it off with a wash cloth and didn't want to budge much . Didn't really think about it till she also had a spot on her bottom that no matter how much diaper rash ointment i was putting on it it really wasn't going away either. Realized wait maybe she has thrush, i need to get her in before i get this too. Got her to the dr and she does have thrush both on her bottom and in her mouth poor baby. She weighed 9 lbs 8 oz and 22 inches long today so still gaining and growing real well.. Dr prescribed both oral and cream nystatin to be giving and putting on her 4x a day..This should be fun... Oy..

Oh no! I think we have this starting as well. We are going in tomorrow for immunizations, so we hopefully will get a script for nystatin.

I hope it clears up soon for you! Are you going to put the cream on your nips? Do you have any pain nursing?

We've been battling thrush as well. I'm not bfing though. We also have the oral Nystatin. It doesn't seem to be bothering Kylie at all which is a good thing.
Good luck in getting it cleared up.

poor Sadie doesn't like the oral nystatin i dont think, she cries and cries and cries But its got to be done so we can get better. Good luck with your babys thrush.. Make sure with her tho that you are sterilizing her bottle nipples often too just a tip.

That doesn't sound fun at all. I hope it clears up soon.
