    Default Today's apt. & u/s

Well I'm 10w3dys and went in for a routine apt. They couldn't find the heart beat and knowing my history the dr said right away come on, get down we are doing an u/s right now... everything will be fine. Sooo- we went right in and she told the tech that she wanted to do the u/s herself... we saw our lil one right away and it was much relief to see him/her moving around sooooo much. HB was 180. I got a nice picture and left so relieved. Seeing that was definately what I needed.

Anyone else have a hard time hearing hb around 10+ wks?? I know everyone is different and every pgcy too. Just made me nervous cause they heard the hb last week by doppler then didn't today.

I am 14 weeks today and I still cannot find it. I am an RN and usually I am good at it (on other people). The OB also had issues at my 12 week appt, but I had my US scheduled and all was well.
I know my placenta is anterior this time, so I think this is why we have so much trouble finding it. It doesn't help the stress though!

    Congrats on a great appointment.

    Congrats on your appt!

Cristan - that makes me feel better. I'm 14 weeks tomorrow and although I try daily, I can't find anything but my own heartbeat in like 1000 different places

Jess- I think you and I are destined to be stressed together!

Its like the innocence is gone once you have had a loss and you can't ever feel safe. I know I was past 20 weeks before I felt able to relax and bond with DS. I hope I relax soon with this one!

LOL I love it! Destined to be stressed together. Have you had a loss? You should join us on the pregnant after a loss board. I will warn you though - I post novels on the chat thread there, lol.

I hope we BOTH relax, I think I'd be fine if I could hear the heartbeat because I'd know it was okay. But noooo, I just get to worry.

I had an appt when I was 10 weeks 1 day and the doctor tried to find the heartbeat with the dopplar and all he could find was mine. He said its hard before 12 weeks. He sent me for a dating and size ultrasound and although we didn't get to hear the heartbeat because of the machine the tech was using we did see it fluttering away...she wasn't allowed to tell us how fast it was because she couldn't call heartbeat or not. Baby was measuring 9 weeks 3 days that day, which would explain why we couldn't pick it up on the dopplar. I go back on the 18th and will be 14 weeks 1 day and am crossing fingers we can pick it up that day.

Well I am glad I am not alone. I don't expect to hear the hb on my home doppler for a while... those are never as sensitive as the ones in the dr office. But when the dr. had picked up the heart beat last week at 9 wks and then couldn't find it yesterday it was a little nerving.

Jennyflem- I believe the hb for my dd was in 160's but I think that was around 9 wks. Maybe it was 10 wks ??? I'm no help... sorry!

NOW... what is it again??? high hb =girl & lower= boy??? 9 wks this one was at 160 and 10wks yesterday in 180's big diff.
