Umbilical Cords

So here is my newborn cloth pic! This is a rumparooz lil joey. I like these because the top snaps down for the umbilical cord. Can't wait til that thing falls off. When did your baby's cord fall off?

Julie's fell off on day 10 as well. It was gross looking. I kept thinking something was wrong.

Awww Smile He's so sweet in his lil cloth diaper! As for the umbilical cord stub, Wade lost his right at 2 weeks. You can use alcohol pads to help dry it out and it'll fall off faster. That's what my doc suggested.

How adorable! My friend loved RAR as well. That's cool that it snaps down like that!
Mine have all been different - Judah's fell off at 16 days I believe. And it was hanging by a thread so I just cut it and the rest fell off the next day or something.
Just be diligent about using alcohol on it and don't be afraid to get in the cracks and crevices because it can get gunky. I think the more you clean it, the quicker it falls off.
I hate the cord, makes me nauseous.

So weird Vicki, so when I was pregnant I went out and bought alcohol specifically for the cord and then in the hospital they told me twice to not use alcohol on it, but to keep it clean and dry is the new way they advise to take care of it. I'm sure its fine, every baby I knew growing up had their cord cleaned with alcohol. Just weird how they come up with all these changes.
