Went Shopping Today

DH's grandma gave me some money for new maternity clothes (totally out of the blue! I didn't ask for it, she's just sweet like that!) so I went shopping today. Among other things, I needed to get something nice to wear to a bat mitzvah that we are going to at the end of this month. I tried on a bunch of maternity dresses....ugh. Not a good look for me. Some pregnant girls look soooo stinkin' cute in little maternity dresses, but I just look huge and awkward (already!) So I went for a knee length black skirt with a kicky little ruffle on the bottom, and a kind of fitted purple blouse. I'm still going back and forth about the blouse - being fitted, it makes my belly really pop. LOL I keep trying to tell myself that it's okay to have a big belly and everyone will think it's cute, but I'm not sure if I'm pregnant enough for a big belly to be cute yet....LOL

I also got a new pair of jeans, a cute casual top, 2 tops that will be nice for work, and a big cozy cardigan that I can throw over my other light weight maternity clothes so I don't freeze to death this winter. Oh, and low cut maternity underwear. I love maternity underwear! I never stopped wearing it after T was born, which is why I don't have any left now. They're like regular cotton bikinis, but low cut to not squeeze your belly, and roomier on the back porch. As comfy as granny panties, but slightly less hideous. Biggrin

Have you all bought much yet?

What's wrong with granny panties? *blink blink* No seriously, I'm glad you made a post about underwear, LOL, because I was wondering what the difference was. I don't think I can wear low cut underwear, I'm too big..I think they'd just roll down.

And LMAO about having a cute belly. Funny story: My mirror in the bathroom goes from head to ..neck. Like seriously that's all I can see. I'm so used to having huge mirrors in my houses and this one is tiny. So ...I can definitely tell my belly is popping out. Yesterday DH's fam said they can tell I'm pregnant.. I was like, yes! So, I went potty...there's a big mirror in there. O...M...G.. gross! Yeah, my belly is bigger but I just look HUGE. Like, I thought my belly was just poking out in the front, but I have like...super rolls on the side now so I look like I have half of an inner-tube attached to my front. After I saw that, I tried to not poke my belly out so much LOL

I wasn't even done typing and got distracted..lol.

I want another one or two pair of jeans. I need some long sleeve shirts, my friend did give me one, but I'm not sure it's maternity...it doesn't have that "maternity" look, but I like it (it's a hoodie) so I'm keeping it...lol. I'm not buying a jacket, I never wear a jacket anyway, most of the time I'm in a hoodie. I need a few pair of black pants for work...I'm still getting away with half way zipping them, but.. I don't know how long that will last.

OOooooh maternity money, nice grandma!

I bought a couple of sweaters. It was nice the lady at the store said "Congratulations mama" when I bought them. Put a smile on my face! I've decided I will buy a couple things either maternity or for the baby each paycheck from now on. That way it won't all pile up on me.

I'm not really popping. My bump is non-existent. Not even a bloated bump anymore. I swear I was a lot bigger a few weeks ago. I weighed 4lbs over my pre-pregnancy weight at my last appointment. And now I have dropped it all. Kind of freaks me out. But I've been sick and I had a massive puke session the other day at work. Did I tell y'all about that?

Yay for grandmas!!!
I haven't bought anything maternity yet. I'm not big enough for maternity clothes but most of my regular clothes(mainly pants) aren't fitting. I have one pair of jeans that still fit and I have a couple pairs of comfy pants that I always wear at home, and i'll put the jeans on when we go out. I'm going to need more clothes soon as Chicago winters get pretty cold so my bigger hoodies aren't going to cut it for long....it's all a money issue. Darn money!
