So I just fed Judah a nice pumped bottle of breast milk.
He ate and burped the first 3oz then proceeded to puke up probably a whole ounce. Continued feeding him another ounce and he was fine.
Acted hungry and fussed and I fed him another 1.5 oz. Proceeded to have a good burp then puked up another whole ounce.
What gives? This is precious stuff! And he's *still* fussy! Do I feed him more or what? This whole feeding thing is extremely frustrating.
I don't know, but I do know how much it sucks to see expressed milk puked up! I'd bet he's had enough. I might try to distract him for a bit or see if you can get him to sleep a bit.
I ended up just nursing him an hour later and he stayed awake and happy for a bit and easily fell asleep in his swing.
I think when he takes a bottle and he's starving, he eats too fast for his system to handle. He never spits up that much when he nurses.
If I had a choice, he wouldn't bet getting bottles anyway, bah!
We had a bit of that for like a week and what we found was she had a burp in there so 8/10 times we burp her a bit before giving her bottle and a burp comes up and then we feed and burp and it decreased a lot of her first burp spitting. I think it is just her being gassy in general so that helps
Dealing with the same over here. Took Henry to the pedi today because he has been spitting up and hasn't slept more than 20 minutes at a time since Saturday. She prescribed zantac for reflux and said that if its not helping by next week then she wants to do a sonogram for Pyloric Stenosis. Hope its not the latter though. Sounds scary.
But seems that maybe Judah is just taking it in too quickly. Hopefully it resolves itself!
Sorry, I definitely know what it's like to watch your baby puke up what seems like everything he just ate. Hope it resolves soon!
