Yes, PLEASE ask me that again...

So.. this lady at work walks by me today practically singing my name. One, it's early...don't sing. Two, seriously? Shut up. Okay, so I wasn't feeling well today. Anyway, she asks me how many more days. I said 3, one less than yesterday. (She asks me EVERY .....SINGLE..... DAY). She's like, oh you're working up until you have her (which she asks me EVERY..... SINGLE....DAY). I said yes. She said oh you must not be in pain. At which point I said I am in pain. Everything hurts. She patted me on the back and said that's good and walked away. So, obviously she wasn't listening.
I want to ***** slap everyone at work. They ALL ask me how many more days. When are you due? Is it a girl or boy? When is your last day? When are you coming back? Are you ready? Feelin okay?

Plus, some people know it's irritating me, so they'll ask multiple times A DAY to try to be FUNNY.

At first, okay.. I get it, you forgot when I was due and whatnot. But seriously? Asking me everyday... the same questions...?

Soooo...I *might* have taken it out on one of my vendors. He's kinda sorta my buddy anyway, but he walked in and said "hey Jess" and I said "Hi, I'm pregnant with a girl and I'm due on Friday." (At this point he's looking at me weird, he knows when I'm due and, thankfully, is not one of the ones asking me everyday). "I have three more days, my last day is whenever I go into labor. I'll be back in 6 weeks unless it's a c-section in which case it'll be 8 weeks. Yes, I'm ready. And HELL NO I'm not feelin okay, YOU try shoving a watermelon out of your penis and then we'll talk."
He was about dying laughing when I finished my rant.

I'm sorry your co-workers are driving you nuts! People just don't get it, when your so far along you just want to be left alone. I know they think it's all fun and games, but it's really not when your tired and in pain and just want to be holding your baby. :hugs:

People are so clueless. Sorry your coworkers are annoying the crap out of you. Oh and I hate morning singers and morning whistlers are THE worst. Actually I don't even like people who talk a lot before 10am. I need silence until then.

My bosses just keep saying "you need to finish this before the baby arrives" and they say looking at my belly saying "stay in there until your due date Henry." They need to wake their butts up, because I refuse to feel guilty for not meeting a deadline because I have a baby.

So freaking annoying.

:notworthy: Same here!!

And you shouldn't!!! You are ONE person and can only do so much. Says the one who's in the same boat as you, though..

I keep hearing "If you can't do your job, you need to go on leave." OMG shut up! I never said I CAN'T do my job! WHere is that coming from?!?!? :annoyed:

Sounds like our careers are similar. What do you do again? Marketing/graphic design?? I can't remember. There are few moms in my field of work. Actually there are very few women over the age of 35 in my field of work. It's sad..I wish the industry would change its way of thinking. Architecture is still a good ol boys club.

Adriana, I sent a text to my boss man yesterday morning and asked for the person who's filling in for me, to come help me check in an order because there's no way in hell I would have been able to consistently bend over that many times to check it in. The rep that puts that order up will help me - but she doesn't come in until it's almost time for me to leave. He let me have the person filling in for me, but I felt so bad for having to ask.

This part totally has me lol! Sorry you are having to deal with all the annoying co-workers though. Its bad enough feeling like crap without having to hear the same old tired questions again and again. And the singing in the morning would drive me nuts too.

Man, what is it with people who think they can say whatever they want to whoever without any disregard?
I'm not working at the moment but I know if I didn't lose my job, I would of gotten some of the same comments from the ladies in the office I worked with. Probably not meaning anything negative, but when your in pain and tired and ready to just be done being pregnant, multiple comments really get annoying.
For me, I can only take so much and then my Chicago attitude comes out. Sure I try to make my ugly comeback comments seem more like joking just to keep the piece, but a pregnant person can only take so much.
Hugs lady! I hope Julie makes her appearance soon so you can get out of there for a while.

I completely understand and feel your pain! My coworkers are driving me insane too. I get the same questions every day and my favorite "how are you feeling? you look miserable!" well no **** sherlock! I am miserable! And today this woman came over to my desk and kept telling me all this negative stuff like dont do this and you're going to hate this and you're not going to sleep any and blah blah blah AND she kept calling my little man a "she" and "her" even though I've told her a million times that its a boy. They threw me a shower yesterday too and I had the blue balloons and one gift that I didnt get until today b/c the girl wasnt there which was all blue boy stuff right there too so why she decided it was a girl all the sudden I dont know. The shower was really sweet but she was REALLY annoying me today. I just wanted her to take her negative stupid butt back to her desk and let me do my work. When she finally left my boss (who sits in the cube behind me) says "wow... she was blunt wasnt she?". Her negativeness didnt really bother me so much as her calling my little boy a "she" and "her"... I dont know why but I didnt like it. I mean, I'm 9 months pregnant and she says something to me every single day so she KNOWS I'm having a boy! Okay, rant over... sorry for bogarting your post...

Funny you mention Marketing, though, b/c one of my degrees is in Marking Research.. I love Marketing.. one of my other degrees is in Statistics. I'd love love LOVE to be a Statistics professor. Smile

:nono: Don't feel bad for asking for help! Although I don't ask for help so I know the feeling.. but still! You're at a point you just need a little push to get things done.. No harm, no foul!

My boss actually told a co-worker NOT to help me Sad
And this was after HIS boss told him not to work me too hard..

Pathetic prick.
