12 week appointment!
I had my 12 week appointment today. Baby's heart rate was nice and strong, still in the 160's like it was at 8 weeks. Dr said everything looks GREAT! I'm still having awful 24/7 nausea, so he put me on diclegis-a class A drug that is SUPPOSED to work wonders...I really hope so! He also gave me full permission to be on any kind of excercise regimen once I'm feeling better, and he gave me some great insight on healthy eating (once I get out of "survival mode" as he put it;-) so, all in all a great appointment. I'm just so thankful baby sounds good and everything is going well!
How's everyone else doing??
Yay! Awesome appontment update! I am right there with ya on the nausea though. I thought it was supposed to get better after 12 weeks lol - yeah right! Two days in a row I couldn't keep breakfast down and nausea lasts all day long. I hope the med helps ya with that! I got kinda lucky with my 12 week appointment because the doctor couldn't find the heartbeat easily enough with the handheld doppler (I think he was just being impatient though because I can always find it with mine ^_^ ) and he gave me a quick ultrasound just to be sure! So I got to see my little-big-head! I love how they look at 12 weeks with the round head and tiny flapping arms and popping around when they feel the probe pushing on the uterus! Congrats on rounding the bend to the second trimester!!
glad you had a good appt. Sorry the nausea is still hanging around, hopefully it leaves soon!
We videoed the dr getting the hb so we can show our daughter-she will be excited to get to hear her baby sibling. She is so sweet-have to share what she said the other day...
So Lucy's school doesn't allow siblings to go on field trips-they want the chaperones to have their attention on the kids, which I understand (even tho it's frustrating, too.) so Lucy exclaims the other day, "MOM! You can't go on my field trip bc you will have a sibling." I said, "it's ok honey, Gigi is coming to watch baby brother." And she said, "NO, you have ANOTHER sibling in your BELLY!" Lol:) I just love my little pro-life girl!:-)
I'm really hoping this new med does the trick. I was sick until 15 weeks with Lucy, and I just don't know how I can handle another 3 like this one has been:/ of course it is well worth it, but you guys know that doesn't mean it's easy!:/
Katie-so awesome you got to have a sono! Two more months or less and we should all know what we are having!!
Haha! That's cute about the field trip! I can't wait to play the heartbeat for my boys too! That will really geek em out :D ! I can't wait to find out what y'all are having! Hehe, I'm not gonna be any fun for you gals though because we are keeping the gender a surprise for the delivery! DH's mom was all pouty about that lol. She was like "How am I going to buy clothes?" (in broken English between Mandarin Chinese). Oh well - she will have to wait like the rest of us hehe.
I have friends who don't ever find out, and they say it's so much fun! I just can't wait tho!! The fact that we even were able to conceive is such a surprise in itself! :-)
