Any other runners?

Any other April Mommies runners? Curious what everyone is doing for their workout routines during their pregnancy. I used to do triathlons but had taken a break before this pregnancy, so I've decided not to do any biking while I'm pregnant-my body is still conditioned for it so that part doesn't concern me, but we recently moved and I don't know these roads well enough to feel safe. It's too easy to fall off of a road bike! I am continuing regular exercise tho-nothing major at ALL, but some heavy walking and very light jogging. I feel so much better when I'm working out, and I know it can help with delivery, too. With dd I was taking a lot of dance classes during my first trimester but eased off towards the end of my pregnancy. What does everyone else enjoy doing?

I'm only a casual jogger....2-3 miles. I still go out once or twice a week. I also do fast walking, some strength classes and cardio classes. Today is an hour long stretching class - I love Sundays!

DH and I are regular hikers. We actually did an 8 mile mountain hike on Saturday and though my calves are sore, I feel great. I am getting as much in as I can before it gets to be too much. Smile

I run several times a week. I was almost done my training for a 25km trail race when I found out I was pregnant, I still plan on running the race this weekend. I know it won't be my best time but my goal is just to finish as I have trained so hard for it already. I also ran in a race this weekend, a 5km race. I took it easy, and was 2 min slower then my personal best, but I still had fun. I think exercise is healthy during pregnancy. I listen to my body and that dictates how hard I work. I had trouble doing all the training on my plan earlier in this pregnancy as I had awful nausea and tiredness, so I skipped workouts as necessary. I hope to run until at least December, then I might just do some walking, or some very light indoor jogs.

Yay for active mommies! I'm debating doing a 5k in a few weekends, but it's just so iffy how I'm going to feel these days. So, on the days I feel good, I get out, but the other days not so much. Today is starting off to be a "not so much" day:/

I am a runner and enjoy working out. I have really liked the classes at my gym a lot lately, so I've been doing that more than anything. Bodypump (weightlifting), Bodycombat (kickboxing), and Yoga are my favorites. I haven't done very much running lately and have definitely skipped more workouts than normal just from not feeling good and my motivation has gone down the drain. But I'm still trying so I give myself brownie points for that. Smile

I think the most important thing we can do right now is really listen to our bodies. Normally, I push myself, so even if I don't feel good, I try to workout, but that's not the case right now. I figure if I can keep up with some light jogging and regular walking throughout my pregnancy, it will be sooo much easier to get back into it full swing once baby arrives. Thankfully, my son LOVES to go on walks and runs with me, and we have a beautiful park with a jogging trail right across the street from our neighborhood. The weather has been beautiful here in the mornings lately, too. Just puts me in a good mood being out in it:)

I wanted to update you guys a bit. I completed my big run last weekend. It wasn't my fastest time ever, but I am so glad that I finished. I ran a 25km trail race that was full of hills this weekend. I had trained for a very long time to do it and I'm so glad I did. I didn't feel that great during the run but I made it and I feel fine two days later. Here is a picture of me after the run...

After the run with my oldest and my youngest...

Proud of finishing my 25k!

Thanks for the compliment, the boys in the picture are Jacob (born Feb 2008) and Henry (born May 2012) I also have another boy who wouldn't get in the picture. He was born in January 2010. He's well into the "terrible threes!" and refused to get in the picture.
