Cravings?

With my first two pregnancies I did not get cravings until much later. With DS#1 I craved Arby's roast beef sandwiches like fire - all the time! With DS#2 it was sporadic and it wasn't one type of food.

This time around, I am having the most intense cravings at 4 weeks for sweets (which I NEVER eat btw). The one main thing I want is sweet buns (the kind found at the Korean bakeries like Shilla's, and Asian markets) with the soft, sweet Hawaiian bread-like filled with custards and mousses of different flavors! OMG. So good. Been thinking about it nonstop this week, so DH and I are going after work to pick some up from the Lotte Plaza market. Smile Can't wait!

Oh eggs... I couldn't even look at eggs either for my first two. This one, however, I am doing just fine with eggs so far. Weird.
But weirder than that was that, with my first two, the smell of water would send me running to the bathroom to puke. Man, I cannot explain that one o.O

I drank dasani the other day and it tasted terrible as if water has a flavor lol .. my dog had a "smell" to him last time I was pg that no one else could smell lol but if he came near me I was straight in the bathroom very weird I kept saying he smells like rotten peanut butter lol .. the stuff pregnancy does to us lol

Oh yeah! Dogs! They had a smell to me too - Like a strong rust smell almost. Makes me gag too.

I have been craving spicey anything....although my slowing metabolism is NOT HAVING IT. I swear if DBF would let me id eat tapatio hot sauce randomly throughout the day. It honestly helps settle my nausea.

Don't get me started on smells...MY GOODNESS! I swear since week two my nose has turned into a certified hunting hound dog. McDonalds...eggs...sausage...alcohol (consumption kind)...smoke....i just want to shove ear plugs in my nostrils

HAHAHA! This is how I feel now too. DH laughs at me every time we are sitting in the living room with out windows open (we live in an apartment complex) and I sniff the air and say "so-an-so is cooking this or that". Unfortunately I don't always get it right. Coffee to me now smells like cigarettes.

But I can sympathize with the spicy stomach therapy. I think you have somethin there. Spicy food has never made my stomach upset and I can always keep it down even when I can't keep bland things down. I say go for it! Wink

With my first DS I had no cravings, but I could not stand the look, smell or even thought of ground meat! If we got close to the meat cases where the ground meat was I would get sick! If someone mentioned getting a hamburger I would get sick! Literally. It was BAD.

With my second DS ground meat was no issue. My cravings were spicy, I would drink salsa from my favorite Mexican restaurant and have them make it super spicy for me. I also could not get enough of the smell of gasoline! I could smell a gas station a mile away!!

So far with this one I'm having problems with any kind of yuk smell, my dogs stink and cigarette smoke...the man in walmart yesterday almost made me almost loose it and he was a full isle away! But it is still very early for me so I look for aversions and cravings to kick in a bit later.

With my first two, both girls, I craved fat and grease: meaty pizzas, burgers, fries, ect. With my third, boy, I craved Subway turkey sandwiches. I would eat one EVERY day! This time I am craving turkey sandwiches again but this time from Port of Subs lol. So it will be interesting to find out what I'm having. Smile

Ice cold water & sleep Smile I could literally sleep the day away! I craved lemon everything with DS. Lemonade, cake, candy etc. Nothing too specific this time except water. I am normally a coffee, coke, sweet tea drinker who likes water but now I feel a sense of "I have to have it now or I am going to get mad" weird. My cravings with DS started much later I think.

None yet really. My first pregnancy I didn't have any cravings, with my second though it was crazy. I'd eat mint and parsley from my garden like I was a mad thing. My husband would find me outside on my hands and knees cramming mint leaves in my mouth. I literally could not get enough. It still weirds me out Smile

This pg has been pretty rough sickness-wise for me. I crave something, eat it, and feel so sick that I can't eat it again. The only thing that has made it into my mouth multiple times is a chicken bacon ranch sandwich from subway.

I've had several days where I've craved Mexican food, and in particular there's a Mexican pizza I'm dying to have...but the nearest store that makes them is 279 miles away! Lol!

The weirdest thing with this pg has been the aversions I've had tho-I absolutely LOVE hot coffee and diet dr pepper and I cannot STAND hot coffee or any soda whatsoever right now. I also love flavored iced tea but nothing tastes right. I guess that's a good thing tho bc I'm getting plenty of pure water this way.

W4lucy maybe a roadtrip!!

I'm having a hard time eating most any food. Steak is my go to. But any kind of soft food just grosses me out. I was cutting a tomato and it made me soooo sick! String cheese has been a favorite snack food for a long time and I can not tolerate it at all. I did get a block of Cheddar and cut chunks off of it and eat it but forget the softer cheeses. I do not eat chips so pork skins are my "chips" but the only way I can stand them is when I dip them in cheese dip. I'm just having some of the strangest issues.

Ditto on that. Blum 3 I can't even get to work without feeling like I'm going to throw up. Weird though, I find that driving rather than riding as a passenger makes me less sick. If DH drives me to work, I get really pukey. But if I drive myself, I am usually pretty okay.

Today I'm not craving anything specific. I mostly am just nauseated and tired. It's like I feel like if I could just figure out what I wanted to eat, maybe my tummy would finally settle down. I think that's just my way of trying to cope with this never ending nausea tho. Anyone else have 24 hour "morning" sickness? It lasted until 15 weeks with my dd, so that means I have another month and a half of it's the same with this baby.

Oh no I sure hope you don't have to deal with it that long. Mine was real bad in the middle of the night up until a few nights ago now it's just random. It's more when I see something like a tomato or smell something.

Today I can't seem to get full. I was having a terrible time eating anything at all because I was just not hungry but yesterday and today I'm STARVING and I can't figure out what I want to eat. Nothing sounds good at all. And sleepy. I'm so dang tired I can hardly move. So glad the only thing I had to do today was take my kids to school. DH is home tonight so he gets to tend to them because I just don't think I can focus or stay awake to tend to them! I hate feeling so groggy!

I had one of those days this week, too-literally was worthless I just had no energy. Thankfully, my son took a 3.5 hour afternoon nap and DH picked up our daughter from school and took her back to work with him. I was very thankful for the sleep!

I actually made dinner tonight!! The smells liked to of killed me, but I suffered through and am so glad-a home cooked meal was so nice for a change. We made homemade pizza out on the grill-dough from scratch and tons of fresh veggies on top. It wasn't the pizza I've been craving from the store that's 279 miles away, but it did the trick today;-)

I have been craving hamburgers like. nobody's. business. I can't stop thinking about them! And even when I had one this week, it only satisfied the craving for, um, 2 minutes and then I started thinking about them again. Also on the list of cravings: dill pickles (I have eaten 2 big jars in the last week, not proud), nacho cheese doritos, and chocolate chip cookie dough ice cream. Holy moly, I have had to really hold back (except there has been no holding back with the pickles) or else I would have already gained 50 pounds.

Other than those things, food sounds and looks gross. I made alfredo sauce for our dinner a week ago and I couldn't even sit at the table with my family because it made me sick to watch my son eat it. I sure hope this morning (all day) sickness doesn't last too much longer! I wish I could remember how long it lasted with DS, I have no clue.

Zero cravings or aversions thus far, though sometimes I feel hungry but don't want to eat what we have in the house, and other times I just don't feel hungry at all even though I know I haven't eaten enough.

At 10:30 last night I suddenly got a deadly craving for onion rings. I HATE HATE HATE onion rings. And I say deadly because I could have hurt someone if not killed them for them!! I have never ever had such a 'got to have something NOW' craving! DH was at work and the options were to either make him come home, wake the kids and go get them or go to bed and hope it passed.

So I went to bed. I still want them but not like I did last night.

That must be the witching hour. I got a mad craving for fluffy biscuits and cold milk right then. DH made them for me even though he had to be up at 5 today for work. Nothing like a fulfilled craving. But then OMG I got the WORST heartburn at 1am and it is still bothering me. I spent most of the night sitting up on the couch sipping water. I couldn't fall asleep for anything. Felt like a giant bolus of acid was going to come burning through my head any second. That was the worst one I have felt yet. From biscuits??? Must have been something else I ate yesterday... dunno

Nope that is just being preggo! With my two boys I got heartburn from pure air I think! Drink a sip of water and think I was gonna die! It was brutal. Get you some tums. I survived off them darn things! So far with this one I have only had heartburn about 3 times. I look for that to change though.

Pepcid! I took two a day during my last pregnancy and it was amazingly helpful. I haven't felt heartburn yet this time.
