So does anyone out there have tips/advice on how to get pregnant? I thought we could start a thread on this, just to pass on whatever info/advice we've received.
I'll start with what tips I've received:
1. If you have a 28 day cycle, DTD on day 14. This worked for me with baby #1, and worked again last month (although didn't stick).
2. After DTD, you shouldn't raise your hips, you should lay flat. Supposedly raising your hips sends the swimmers to the wrong location?
3. Both prospective parents should stop the caffeine. I guess it impairs the swimmers for men.
Anway, that's what I've been told. I'm curious if anyone else has tried (or is trying) anything.

I don't know. I am thoroughly confused by TTC this time round. With both of my kids I held my hips in the air and got preggers both times. This time around I have tried every position that has been discussed on these boards and nothing, nada, not pregnant yet. As far as other tips I am going to start working out regularly again and I am getting a massage a few days before O this coming month. If nothing else it'll relieve stress. But I am always open to hear any advice offered.

I fell the month I used OPK's.. I would have held off until a + opk, but we dtd cd 6, cd 8 (because dh was sulking)., then we held off until I had a +opk which was cd12 and we dtd for days after that!
Dont know if this was coincidence or whether it worked. That month was different to the failed attempts.
That and the fact that my mil (unbeknown to me) had given my dh her prescription pain killers which I read on the net can kill sperm.. so that could have had something to do with it also. he had been taking them since last christmas. When I found out, I just totally lost it.. I said to him, you know we are ttc... Its not just my body we have to be careful with, its yours too!!! We threw them away and that was the month b4 I conceived.
So we will never know whether it was the timing or the meds he was taking.

Let's see...I was charting my cycles (not temps, just symptoms like CM, etc., and AF days) on MyMonthlyCycles.com and using OPKs. The month I got preggers, we DTD approximately every 36 hours on the fertile days (i.e., the morning on one day and the night of the next), I used OPKs twice/day to make sure I didn't miss the LH surge, I was drinking green tea and taking evening primrose oil capsules. Oh, and I used PreSeed lubricant. That was the only month I was doing all of those things.

Read thru the tips, I know its not him, he has two from his first marriage, lol, right now its the emotions Im dealing with, the "I want to be a mommy too" smile, my younger sister(we are 8 years apart) had hers back to back 15months apart.....my husband and I get teased at our church...but they dont realize deep down inside the emotions that Im going thru so at times I remain silent, Im glad I found this board...holla
