What do you all think of Guinia pigs as a christmas present??
I may get the girls each one. I have not decided yet though. Kassie saw an old box in the basement of a big doll house and started looking for the house. I know they really want one. This morning Kassie found some of her play money and I asked her what she was going to do with it...she said 'buy a doll house' with out a flinch!
I'm not getting them both (the doll house and the guinia pigs) cause they cost over $200 each with setting up furnature and stuff.
What would you all do?
The reason I want them is because I think they would give the girls something to do. When I come home from school, maybe Jossie and the girls could play with them and give me a new minutes to get changed and get supper started. I have very needy children and I need a break.

I think if you are certain that Jossie will take the lead, then go ahead and get the guinea pigs. However, personally I think Caspar would be too young for this kind of pet and I wouldn't contemplate it for him - even with Harry around to "supervise". I know you need a break, Leesa, but you may end up spending more time intervening on pet-related arguments!!
The dolls house sounds fabulous, IMO. I think you would probably end up with more quiet time for yourself with something like that to keep them occupied. Caspar has a Peppa Pig playhouse - a kind of mini-dolls house - and he can spend half an hour laying on his tummy, rearranging furniture, playing out scenarios with the characters! Plus, you can always continue to buy bits for the house for birthdays etc - keep adding to it.

I agree with the others, the doll house is a much better idea. I know from experience that animals are not the greatest gifts unless you plan to be the main caregiver of that pet. Morgan helps out sometimes with the dogs and cat and fish we have, but I can't rely on her at all. LOL good luck on your decision.

Well that's a tough one. I know I couldn't get James one, cause well it would be dead in less than a week. The boy is rough enough on the kittens we have and THANK GOD he hasn't killed one yet. I think he did accidentally kill two out of the first litter we had, cause they were in the house and he had easier access to those. Honestly I think the girls would much rather have the doll house, especially if that's what they keep talking about. Good luck with your decision.

I tend to agree with the others. I think getting them the guinea pigs will only result in more work for you - cleaning the cage, making sure they are fed etc. I personally would go for the dollhouse - Amber has a little one and she is starting to play with it tons!

Darn girls. I am so stummped on what to get them. I posted on the ATB a couple times and each time, I am leaning more towards getting the pigs.
I know they would love both, but I have to pick.

Leesa, personally I would get the dollhouse. I wouldn't want pets in my house until the girls were old enough to clean up after them.
The dollhouse I know my girls would love.
Good luck w/ your decision.
