It is getting close. I am assuming about 3-5 days from now or so. No real signs of it yet. That is good for me. I have had many month where I have O'd btw CD 10-12, which usually indicates an immature follicle for me. I changed my diet this month and started supplements for fertility last month, so here's hoping that we catch a mature eggie this month. *fingers crossed*

Yey! :D
Have you tried soy? I'm not sure what it does, but i've heard it has something to do with ovulation...
I'm hoping that you catch that big ole eggy when it drops. :D

Thanks Sarah! :D
Since I have cut out dairy, I have soy milk every morning. I am not sure if that is enough soy, but it is more than it was before. Soy can help increase estrogen, which is a key hormone with the maturation of follicles, in conjunction with FSH. That is also why soy can be helpful during menopause. It helps to create estrogen in women who have very little estrogen in their system.

Good Luck! I hope you pop a nice big, fat egg! Apart from diet, what other supplements are you using?

You know I tried a trick that a massage therapist swore by and the month I tried it I got pg! You only do this prior to pg as its dangerous after pg. You rub the little web of skin between your thumb and finger and just massage it and that stimulates your ovaries. It worked for her and her clients and the first time I tried it it worked! Reminds me I need to start doing that again!

first of all i had to laugh scrolling down thinking how you would answer "What supplements are you on" (not laughing at the question.... just the answer I knew would come)
AND
I totally believe in the massage trick though I wish I knew where it was along time ago for fertility. I had a lady tell me once that biting your pinky finger tips helps if you are having a heart attack. I believe (though i dont follow) in accupressure/acupuncture. I"m sure there is something to all of that.
I'm gonna try the massage thing next cycle as im sure i've O'd already. Also I"ve read that the heels of our feet are related to the sex organs. Maybe thats why my heels always hurt.....

Good luck! Why did you cut out dairy?
The diet plan that I am on is related to my fertility issues, so cutting out dairy is not right for everyone. The idea behind cutting out dairy is that as we get older we become more lactose intolerant. When lactose (which is a type of sugar) is not processed well by our digestive system, it increases our sugar levels and causes a rise in insulin. Supposedly, dairy can work with your body to create slight insulin resistance as you get older. Insulin resistance can create issues with ovulation. So, based on my issues, it was a recommendation. I haven't been able to cut all dairy. I really love cheese, so I have had some grilled pumpernickel and cheese sandwiches this week. The diet is pretty restrictive and I am a picky eater, so I had to allow some dairy in to keep my energy level up.

 You know all about the number of supplements I am taking, so I can see how it would be funny to see my reply. :D It is a pretty daunting list. Although, I have seen some lists of supplements other women have taken and my list is small in comparison.
I am definitely going to try the massage thing. I start acupressure next cycle, but there is a place near your ankle (the ligament at the back of your ankle) where you can push on either side and it is supposed to clear a major reproductive channel. I plan to try that the next few days. I have also been putting a heating pad on my lower abdomen every night to keep my uterus warm. How cuckoo is that? I figure it is only a half hour out of my night while watching tv and if it works, than it is well worth it. :D I stop that after O. No heat allowed in the 2ww.

Melanie, how were your symptoms last cycle after taking the supplements??? I ask because last cycle I took the vitex and red clover faithfully with my other pills and both me and my dh and my friends totally thought I was pregnant. I was convinced. My face broke out after O and really hasn't cleared up since then, my bb's grew, just everything told me I was pregnant. I even got a bpt thinking that if af comes I might have had an early m/c. Well the beta was 0 so it was all in my head/body. Then I had a gf tell me (who didnt know about my symptoms) that she took vitex but had to quit after a few weeks because of the side effects. She was taking too much she said. This month I went down to two pills from three a day.

I did not have any pg symptoms last cycle. I think that I had a very immature follicle because I didn't have any symptoms of higher progesterone at all. I didn't temp, so I cannot be sure. However, I did notice some things that changed with AF last cycle. I did not have a ton of cramping and some of my usual pre-AF symptoms were absent. I also did not have any spotting last cycle, which can be a sign of low progesterone. I think the supplements are working for me. I take 500 mg of Vitex a day and that is a high dose. The book I have recommends 300mg per day. Unfortuntately, all I could find here was the 500 mg capsules. So, I only take one. I have noticed cramping before O with vitex. I do not have that when I am not taking vitex. That always makes me worry about taking it after O, but the book says to take it all cycle, so I am trying that this cycle.

I've been using Vitex too, for the last few months. And I haven't had a cycle go beyond 5 weeks, since then. So, I'm a believer. I was advised a B-Complex too, but I looked at the price, and of course, the thought went through my head, "What a waste if I get pg on the first cycle". Ha ha ha. Of course, I'll be rushing out for it, if this cycle turns into a BFN too.

Melanie,
I wanted to stop by and say :goodluck:
We used to be on a board together.... I'm sending you all the baby dust I've got!
:fairy:
And I know you're taking a lot of supplements already... but the month I got pregnant, I had just started taking small doses of selenium.... I had read somewhere that women who have been on BCP's for long stretches tend to get VERY deficient in minerals - especially zinc, magnesium and selenium.... I was already getting the Z & M in my calcium.... so I added that and WHAM... and that was after 3 cycles of clomid and a m/c...
Take care and Keep me posted!

I have thought about adding selenium. I just worry about adding too many supplements, kwim? However, I may add it next cycle if I feel like things are going well. My new diet is really helping me feel great, so I think I am making the changes I need. Now, we just wait and see if my body decides to work correctly.
Thanks for stopping in and taking the time to post. I really appreciate it. It is nice to know that the ladies I posted with last year still remember me. I have checked in on you a few times. Congrats, btw!
