So, your cycles have been 25 days, 22, 16, 24 and 27.

Are you coming off BCP's by any chance? Those cycles aren't really that regular and some are quite short.

I know this is lazy, but i answered a similar question on TTC 0-12, so i'm just going to quote my answer to the other lady. It applies the same for you. :)

Your cycle length is determined by the length of your luteal phase (LP). The is the period of time after ovulation and before AF. Your ovulation can occur at anytime, but typically at least on CD10. Your LP will always remain quite consistant from cycle to cycle, not varying by more than a day or two.

If your cycles are usually 26 days and the typical LP can be anything from 10-16 days that means you could be ovulating between CD10-16, which means that you would be fertile the 3 days prior to that too, so i would start having sex at least every other day from CD7.

Of course, that's a huge range because your cycles are quite short and we don't know exactly how long your LP is. If you are interested in charting your BBT i would highly recommend using www.fertilityfriend.com (http://www.fertilityfriend.com/). Read their charting basics slideshow on the home page, it will teach you a lot!

But, if you don't want to try that just yet then you could just learn to observe your CM in order to narrow down when you should be timing BD to achieve pregnancy.

Or, you could even just BD every other day for the whole of your cycle and just see how it goes! :D

I suppose it depends on how obsessed you want to become! I definately prefer charting so that i know when to time things, but i have long cycles and i'm also a big geek!

I know you said that you dont want to chart, so you might be better off taking the every other day sex tactic. The only way you are going to know if you are definately ovulating though is to chart your BBT.

If you are coming off BCP's your cycles will probably take a while to calm down. Mine were anything from 29 to 40 days with some inbetween before i finally settled down to 35ish days, with O round about CD20-24. :)

Oooh i had another thought! Are your AF's normal? Is the bleeding particularly light at all? I was just thinking maybe you could be having midcycle spotting which you are confusing for AF and your cycles are actually longer than you think...?

Also, you said that you dont know how to use FF. If you look at that charting basics course on their homepage it might just change your mind. Plus you can always ask us for help!

Nope not coming off BCP's...Havent been on them for many many many yrs ..... like 6 yrs or longer. We had just been really good at the pull out method...lol

I got pregnant with my DD, Madison, the 1st cycle. They were just as messed up then too. Guess we just got luck.

I will have to ck out FF help page. Thanks.

And all of my "AF" are pretty heavy. So dont think they are really spotting.

I found Taking Charge of Your Fertility to be helpful (it's a book). I use their tracking software. Even if you don't want to chart at all, the book is a great read and answered a lot of my questions! Good luck!
