Ok I'm done with it so we can analyze now. Does anbody want to give their take on why Harry didn't die in the forest? I can try to rationalize it but I don't know if I'm right.

Hmmm, I am not entirely sure but some of it must have had to do with the fact that Voldy was not the master of the Elder wand. Then there is the part about Voldy having harry's blood in him, therefore he was had part of Harry's mothers old magic in his body.

J.K. answers a ton of questions here http://www.accio-quote.org/articles/2007/0730-bloomsbury-chat.html

but you need a good 30 minutes to read it all. I found it very neat to see what was meant by some of the things that happened.

Since Harry was willing to die and didnt fight that changed things, I believe Dumbledore said something like that from the painting afterwards. Also the whole elder wand thing him not being the true master and sharing the blood I think they all figured in.

Soo was anyone surprised about Snape? I was pretty sure the whole time that he wasnt really bad and that he and Dumbledore had an agreement of some sort. Dh was too, my mom however was convinced after the last book he was totally bad and I am sure will be surprised. For awhile I was trying to convince myself Dumledore wasnt dead either I soo wanted him to be alive somehow.

I think Harry had to die there so Voldemort would destroy the part of his soul that was attached to Harry and since Harry's blood was on him Harry couldn't die anyway since Voldemort was still alive KWIM? also by not defending himself he gave the same kind of protection his mother gave him to everybody else.

Yeah those are all the same conclusions I came too. Requires a lot of thinking!

So we saw the movie this past weekend and I think I was disappointed. It felt so rushed and so many parts were missing. It was ok though I guess. It did make me wonder when Dumbledore and Voldemort were fighting there in the ministy with their wands. At that time Dumbledore was master of the elder wand so it seems like he could have done more damage than he did, not that he didn't kick @ss though. :)

I wasn't suprised about Snape at all, I always just knew that he was a good guy and was under Dumbledore's orders. I was relieved to read it though, I would have hated to be wrong, he was my favourite character, lol!

I have seen a pirated copy of the film and was disappointed too. There was so much stuff missed out and agree that it seemed very rushed. I would have liked to have seen more of the actual stuff in the ministry at the end. I will have to watch it again more carefully now I have read the book to get a good look at Dumbledore's wand, lol!
