VA is having a sales tax holiday this weekend for school clothes & supplies. I just spent 5 hours hitting Baby Gap, The Gap, Old Navy, Gymboree and Stride Rite. I spent ~$700 but I came home with a MOUNTAIN of clothes for the girls and DH. I got some foot cream. DH was thrilled b/c he thought I'd spend more and wasn't expecting me to come home with stuff for him. But he got 10 new polo shirts, 3 pairs of shorts and a bunch of new sport socks.

It's hot as blazes here today, though, and Addison is feeling under the weather, so I came home before going to all the stores I was hoping to go to. So I'm heading back out this evening when it has cooled off a bit to the outdoor mall to look for shoes for Addison. She's outgrowing size 7.5 so I need to replace just about all of her shoes. I did get her a pair of brown chucks at Baby Gap, though.

Yay for your shopping spree. I'm going to miss CT tax free time which is the 19th till the 25th. But My mom is going to take Wreden shopping for School clothes so I will save a bunch of $ that way :)

Y'all should move to NH, where there is never any sales tax :) .

If I lived in a state with no sales tax, though, I wouldn't have an excuse to go on a HUGE shopping spree!!! LOL! Okay, so that's just me trying to console myself for living in a state that taxes....

Sounds like a great shopping trip!!! I usually go to Minnesota, no sales tax on clothes there.

I did something similar. I took advantage of the Tax Free Week, and bought Ashley's school clothes. Riley's preschool (if that is he gets pt'ed in the next two weeks) requires uniforms, so no new clothes there.
