Hello everyone! I'm so excited to find a place to ask questions and get some advice on ttc #2. I have PCOS (diagnosed in 2001), and I was told that I wasn't ovulating, but I mysteriously got PG and miscarried at 10 weeks in 2003. Of course that made me want an angel even more. It was blessed in 11/2004 with a DS. We are trying to conceive #2 now, and I've been placed on Clomid. AF just came early(I thought) on 8/03/07, and I'm supposed to start the clomid on day 3 to day 7. I have a few questions, I hope some one can answer. I've been charting my temps for the past few months, will the clomid make me ovulate earlier? Looks like I o'ed on day 24 of a 34 day cycle this past month. Is there a certain number of days from the time you start it that you should ovulate? I just feel like I have a lot of questions. Does anyone have any great articles or sites about clomid? Also, I see a lot about blood draws on certain days? Is that for progesterone? Sorry if I sound so clueless, but I'm just anxious about the entire process.
Thanks,
Theresa

Hey Theresa...weclome!
You'll love it here!
As far as Oing late,...everyone is different. For me w/o meds O was CD 23/26 of 32-35 day cycle. On round 1 50mg Clomid, I o'd on CD 19....early for me. I do bbt charting and suggest you do that to let you know where you're at. I also use a fertility monitor and it really helps. Some say opk's aren't accurate w/ Clomid, but my fm seems to be right on target. I'm in the 2WW of my 1st round w/ Clomid. GL with yours!
Hope to help with any questions you have!
These ladies are very knowledgeable and wiling to help!
Nice to have you here!

Without meds, I O on CD 19-20. With clomid (days 3-7) it was like clockwork on CD14. I always used OPK's and they did seem to work just fine with the clomid.
And yes, the blood tests are usually on CD21 (roughly about 7 days after they expect you to O) and they check progesterone. My Dr wanted my progesterone 15 or greater while on the clomid. They use that number to determine if they need to increase your dosage. For instance, my first month on clomid (50mg) my prog. was 13.2. So the next month they increased my dosage to 100 mg and my progesterone went up to 19.
Hope that answers your questions! Good luck.

Welcome to the board! Ovulation is different for everyone. I know for some people Clomid delays ovulation, but for me it made it come earlier. I was ovulating between days 19-40 and on my first cycle of Clomid, I O'd on day 16. And yes, the blood draws you hear about 7 DPO are for Progesterone Levels.
GL! I hope this brings you a beautiful BFP very soon!
