My in-laws were visiting this weekend and I am so fed up with my FIL. He only sees Miriam a handful of times each year and they were only here for four days, but he spent almost no time with her.

They arrive on Thursday night. On Friday morning, we go to the playground early, before it gets too hot. MIL and I took Miriam to the park, but FIL stayed home because he says he can't leave the house until he exercises for 30 minutes and that was more important to him than playing with his granddaughter.

Then, it's really hot and humid here and FIL is a big whiner, so we went away for the weekend to the mountains, about 1.5 hours away. Miriam cried the whole time there and was running a fever. So she was real clinging and not playful. On Sunday afternoon when we get back, she's in a much happier mood and ready to play. Does FIL take advantage of this and play with her? No, he spends the afternoon playing on the computer.

So annoying. I'm glad they're leaving this afternoon.

What a dope. I can totally relate- did you read my MIL post? I'm sure he loves Miriam, but a lot of men aren't comfortable around little babies. Maybe he'll be more involved when she's a little older. Hugs!

That stinks. He's totally missing out on a fun time.
