Hi - I'm Tabitha, 21 years old, and I'm on the May 2007 board... I just had my second lap done, as well as a D&C on August 9th. I have polycystic ovaries, and adenomyosis. I'm in constant pain, and the only way to relieve it would be a hysterectomy.

I delievered my son May 2nd... he's my miracle baby - I concieved him after my first surgery, June 30, 06. They told me that it was best to TTC within the next 3 years, didn't know it would happen in just under 2 months. After my surgery August 9th, my OB recommended we TTC again in 6 months... I'm not sure I'm ready for that with having a soon to be 4 month old. Just kinda torn at what to do... with the pain, and the chances I may never have another baby... I'm scared out of my mind...

Hope to get to know you all soon!

Hi Tabitha,
Sorry to hear you have endo. I have had the same thing told to me that I would need to have a hysterectomy to not be in pain however I did get a second opinion and had conflicting reports on a hysterectomy to "cure" endo. I have been TTC for 10 months. I have had 2 laps in the past 15 months so it has been stressful. I would suggest finding a endo specialist if possible and talk about options. I HTH. Good Luck!Sarah

:wavehello: Hi Tabitha. I agree with Sarah about getting a second opinion, I read some where (can't remember where  ) that some times having a hysterectomy will not stop the pain (?). :bigarmhug:

Have you tried the lupron to supress the endo until you are ready to TTC?

Hi Tabitha!
I'm sorry to hear about the endo and the adenomyosis. I've only "met" (on this site) a few gals who have adenomyosis. Everyone else I know has never heard of it.

My RE said the only way to alleviate all my symptoms would be to have a hysterectomy. He knows that is not an option as I am only 30 and want a family. Instead he is working with me in developing the most appropriate fertility treatment plan.

IMO, I wouldn't TTC until you are ready. When you're ready, I'd recommend seeking out assistance from a RE - not that you will require fertility treatment, but I've found that my RE has been the most knowledgeable w/ endo/adenomyosis.

GL!

I keep reading about RE's... what does that stand for!? haha... I'm new at all this lingo - it took me forever to figure out who the hell DH was :)
