I'll get us started...
I'm Amanda (a teacher) and am happily married for almost 6 years now and blessed with the sweetest little guy Jake. Our TTC journey start in 2004 when I went off bcp. I found that I would not be one of the lucky ones to get pregnant that first cycle off. In fact, as the months went on, I realized I was not even ovulating. For the first couple cycles, my body managed to have an AF but after that I would only spot. We tried to jumpstart things with prometrium but that didn't work. After loads of bloodwork, I started clomid. On my 2nd round I was pregnant! I was so thrilled but days later I miscarried, a very tough time in my life. I did 3 more rounds of clomid and then went to see an RE. We continued with clomid at an increased dosage and added a cd12 follicle ultrasound after which we would do an HCG injection to help time my ovulation. Well at the u/s my RE was very disappointed to see my follies were pretty small and she gave me little hope for that month. God saw things differently though and on Feb 22, 2006 I found out that I was pregnant. Scared from my last m/c, I requested a few rounds of HCG level checks and everything was perfect as could be. Pregnancy was incredibly blissful and on October 25, 2006 I gave birth to my precious son (we had a surprise gender, highly recommend that!) He's now 10 months old and has won every corner of my heart. Let my story be inspirational for you. Some of you will experience ease when coming off birth control and some of you may struggle like me. Never give up on your dream to be a mom!
