View Full Version : I've created a MONSTER!! (picture heavy)

I'm in so much trouble!! We've been "coaching" Matthew to smile and say "cheese!" for the camera. We're supposed to take him for his 2 year pictures soon and we wanted James' mom to be in some of the pictures. Matthew had started ignoring the camera, refusing to even look up or smile. It must have been a phase because lately he has been cooperating much more. We thought we'd coach him a bit to get some really cute pics when we take him and his grandma to get their pictures done.

So, now he is doing serious OVERKILL and smiles so big for the camera that his face disappears, his eyes close and all you see is teeth and chubby cheeks, hehee. It is super cute, but I don't think it'll look too good for his 2 year portraits.

Matthew has also proclaimed himself "Raspberry Blowing King" of Kentucky. It is so darned cute that I get the camera out every time he starts doing it. And of course everyone in the room cracks up, so that just keeps him going, LOL.

OH MY! PICTURES!!!!!! Gosh how much he has changed. Can't wait to see the 2yr pics with Grandma! I'm betting he'll do fine. No way can a kiddo that cute ever be a monster. And hey, at least you've got some good photos of his teeth! I don't have any of either of my kiddos. Hugs!! Miss ya updates!

Not sure if we can edit here or not, so adding another post to say:

My DD sat that same way! Doc said to try to not let her, BUT, that was much easier said than done. She's now 11yrs old, and STILL sits that way!

I see a glimpse of a kitty in one of the photos, so now I wanna see Matthew and his kittys! Are they getting along good? Especially now that Matthew can run to find them.

Oh my...he has grown so much, what a ham!!!! This is such a fun age, they really start to give personality and learn how to draw attention to themselves, anything for a crowd!!! I hope the pics turn out pretty which they will but he is absolutely a cutie!!

Matthew has always sat like that, since he was only a few months old.
I've always heard it wasn't good for them, but it is so hard to keep them from doing it.

I'll try to get some pics of Matthew torturing..........uhm, I mean petting the kitties. ;) He is actually doing really great with them. They will come up to him now and wait for him to pet them. They will purr and rub their head against him and he just cracks up, thinks it is the funniest thing ever.

Matthew will see the cat coming down the hallway towards him and he'll run and hide around the corner and patiently wait for them to get to him, then he'll jump out and scare them. It is sooooo funny!!

One of the Moms on Nicholas birthboard said to use the word "strawberries" and you get a more natural smile than "cheese" - LOL I posted on your photo gallery- these are just too cute and if he does close up his eyes and give that big teethy grin, that's okay too, because that's what he's up to right now, and why not, after all?

You know, you're right. The expressions on his face is truly how he is on a daily basis, in all his silliness and personality. I'm glad you said that, because now that you said it, I totally agree. This is a fun stage and he is such a ham, so why not let him be himself? :cool:

Boys are like that......
Billy, 7, still is so funny and makes crazy smiles and silly poses for pictures....his first day of school pictures he left lifting up his knee and leaning to one side.

Oh no, LOL. So at what age can I expect to get a decent picture out of him? 15? 30? hehee

Dont worry. The photographer will be used to cheeze grins. There are tricks, and f shes worth her salt, she'll know em. ;)

Second- holy moley that kid is huge! When did that happen! He so gorgeous, but isnt he like 2 minutes old? Good grief!!
