Well I'm home. Some discomfort, but nothing I can't handle. The worst part is my shoulder. Even though I lay on it, it still hurts. The surgery was 3 and a half hours long. She talked to DH and told him everything. I guess something ruptured, but it was a good rupture b/c she was able to see much more. My left ovary was completely covered, she couldn't even see it. She burned all the endometriosis off and some of the fibroids. If she had to rank me, I would be a 9 out of 10. She couldn't believe that I didn't have any pain considering my condition. Now, let's hope this was the cause of my infertility.
just got off the phone with the RE and she is really pushing for me to go on Lupron. I am completely against this drug as I've heard nothing good about it. Plus, she is insisting that our next step is IVF. Umm...here's an idea let's see if we could get pregnant on our own first before we move on to that. I hope you girls are right when you say that I'll be preggers in 3 months. Now, I just have to learn to relax and enjoy :lovebed: and not make it a chore.

Just a cautionary tale, don't mean to scare you but....I was diagnosed by a lap with severe endo (sounds like you are considered severe by your dr's ranking). My RE put me on Lupron for 3 months to try and contain the endo and stop new growth. After 3 months all my endo was back, when you have severe endo it can grow back quite quickly. I had a second surgery after the 3 months of Lupron and ended up losing my ovary to the cysts that had developed despite being on Lupron. I hate to think what would've happened had I not been on Lupron. Don't get me wrong, it sucked to be on Lupron. The side effects were awful.
Long story short my RE highly recommended moving onto to IVF because of how aggressive my endo was and I took his advice. Of course everyone's situation is different and many women can get pregnant naturally with endo, but I think it is the exception to the rule when it comes to those with severe endo. My RE said women with severe endo have a
1-3% chance each month to become pregnant naturally. Also my RE does not do IVF so he wasn't standing to gain anything if I went the IVF route. He would actually lose out on me not trying IUIs first.
There is a great endo board on ivfconnections with many women who have BTDT...tried naturally, IUIs, and IVF. Good Luck to you no matter what path you choose, I don't mean to be discouraging even though it may sound that way. I just hate to see women with endo like ourselves lose the chance at a successful pregnancy.
All good things to you.

I'm glad they were able to laser away the endo! I do hope that it doesn't come back quickly (or at all!!).
Choose whatever you and DH feel is right! GL!!

Glad the surgery went well. I've got severe endo.
Just for a 'positive' story, I was diagnosed April '06 during laparoscopy / hysteroscopy / D&C. Conceived July '06, had baby boy April '07 and hoping to conceive again sometime in the middle of 2008 (crossing fingers that we get lucky again.)

I am glad to hear that the surgery went well and they found all the endo. I wish you the best of luck.
