Hi ladies... I hope you're all having a much better day than me :(
It took me 2 hours to get to my RE's office this morning for our Clomid, Hcg & IUI cycle... during which I spilled coffee all over myself.
I had my blood taken and then the u/s. I'm so pissed off and upset... I have 3 endometrioma cysts!! Its like I didn't even have a freaking laparoscopy! In July, its not even been that long ago. One was 28 x 32mm. So, we aren't doing the IUI this cycle..... instead I get bloody birth control pills. I cried most of the way back to work, and every time someone asks me how I am - that is what frustrates me the most, I *hate* crying at work!! I had really gotten my hopes up with this and its just been totally crushed.
Thanks for letting me vent.

I am so sorry Hannah. I hate endo too.
I finally had to have a laprotomy for them to get most of mine. But it grows back so quick.
Did they say that you have an endometioma? BCPs do not help for those. Maybe they are those functional cysts that go away on there on.
If they are endometriomas, you should call your RE back and ask why they gave them to you. BCPs do not stop endo growth or reduce endo that is already there. BCPs just mask the symptoms. I Want to give you the BIGGEST CYBER HUGS!!!! PM me if you need to talk sweetie.

Thanks Candice! I was surprised to have cysts so quickly, I had just gotten an ultrasound only 3 weeks ago and my ovaries looked fine!
I don't know how they can tell its an endometrioma compared to a normal cyst, it was the RE who did the u/s so I assume she can tell the difference... she said they were endometriomas.
I know with my lap the OB didn't get all of it, because it was close to my bowel and he didn't want to risk damage. The larger cyst she said she wasn't sure if it was on my ovary or just next to it... I dunno, I wasn't really expecting to see any so I was kinda in shock.
I'll do some research and see what I can dig up... I wasn't sure bcp would affect endometriomas either, though I know its supposed to help normal cysts. Gah. Its so frustrating! If they keep doing laps to get rid of them, won't they just take out more and more ovary ??
I'm rambling... but thanks for the support :bigarmhug:

They can tell if they are endometriomas because they look dense not clear on the U/S. Just call them back tomorrow and ask them to make sure.
What ever you do if they are endometriomas is let them vaginally drain them. That is how I got my infection.
I feel your pain. I tried to talk them into taking my ovary out, but I was glad that they didnt in the end. They did have to crack me open, but it was worth it. My bowell was also stuck to my left ovary and something to do with my colon. They can get a better look and clean up more when they go in. It was not that bab and I recovered quite quickly from it. I always ask for a copy of my surgical notes so that I can read things for myself in the docs words.
Take care and do something for yourself today!

You can tell they are endometriomas because they look grainy on the ultrasound, I have lots of experience with endometriomas, unfortunately. The only way they will stop growing is for you to stop getting your period. So pregnancy or a birth control like depo. I'm not sure why they gave you BC pills? HTH
