3D/4D Ultrasound

Well... Since DH is going to be home for a week, I booked the 3D/4D ultrasound for tomorrow afternoon! I was on the fence about it for the longest time; but, now that it's booked, I'm totally excited for it! Biggrin

I had the ultrasound yesterday evening! It's still a BOY! haha He's just adorable and I've totally fallen more in love! The ultrasound technician said the baby is head up/bum down; however, the doctor (at my appointment the previous day) said she was pretty sure the baby was already head down/bum up... Who is right?! How do the doctor's determine this without actually seeing the baby?

Any good OB/Midwife can tell the position of the baby just by Mapping your belly. Feeling for the back, and then rocking the butt/head to see which is which. Generally bums and heads feel the same until you move them. If you move a head, only the head will move. But if you move a bum then the whole body will move. It's a little tricky at first. But when you do it enough you get the hang of it.
Midwives map my belly at every appointment. But I've heard of OB's relying more on u/s and not mapping as often. So many your OB was just out of practice...?
Either way, here's a link that explains belly mapping better than I can.

I'm glad your u/s went well! Smile Did you get pics?

Sounds exciting!! I really wanted to do one but with twins, I decided not to simply bc they recommend you do it a little earlier in your pregnancy so there is room to see both and I wanted to see when they are a little bigger and have the fat filled in on their face and bodies.... so I will admit I am a little jealous LOL Wink Be sure to let us know how it goes!!

Sounds like a great u/s!! I've never had a 3D/4D u/s... only regular ones. Glad you got to see your little guy again!

I was 28 weeks and 2 days when the ultrasound was done!

PS. Sorry for the crappy edit job! I only know how to do this in paint and couldn't get the white edge to go away! haha

Does anyone else have any 3D/4D pictures to share? I can't remember if anyone else had it done!
