Baby Acne!

Yuck - Bailey (now 3.5 weeks old) has some pretty wicket baby acne! It is mostly on her check bones but a little bit all over her face, some in her ear, a couple on her chest. They started out looking truly like acne - and then they turned more into yellow blisters. I don't remember Will have this (or if he did he had a couple little dots and that was it). The skin around the blisters is also red'ish. Sigh. So not many pictures being taken now - and I am delaying taking her to work to show her off until she is back to her more beautiful self. I feel bad being so superficial - we are obviously still going out and about (not like I am hiding her under a blanket and telling her she is ugly) - but since I will only make it to work a couple of times I want to be able to show her of in all her glory!
Online I read it is common around 2 weeks of age, has to do with hormones racing in her body, it will clear up on its own, we can wipe it gently with damp cloth but it is not a soap / cleanliness thing, and/or you can apply breastmilk (what doesn't this stuff do!?).
Sigh. Poor girl. She doesn't seem bothered.
Otherwise all is well. She is eating well and growing. She is sleeping 3-4 hours at night and feeding every 2-4 hours during the day.

Ugh. Just noticed that baileys ear is full of acne! Poor girl. Ran into our public health nurse a the park and she said that he acne typically clears up by 6 weeks and that it is caused by the vernix clogging their poors. I asked her about applying breast milk and she said I could - or just do nothing and wait it out. Sigh.

DS1 had a bit and I just left it, the less you irritate it the faster it goes away. I know it looks so uncomfortable. Just make sure not to use moisturizers on her face, let it dry out naturaly, wipe her face down with water only.
