Beef Liver

I had a thought that, since my iron is slow, I would start eating beef liver every once in a while; but, I thought I should look up, first, whether it's safe for pregnant women - it kind of just popped into my head! I did find a few websites that indicated it might not be best. Does anyone know whether it's safe or not? Has anyone eaten it throughout any pregnancies?

I love liver! With my DS I ate a lot of blood pudding (black pudding) throughout to keep my iron up.

I've never heard of liver being bad during pregnancy. Everything in moderation! Wink

I love liver and onions - if cooked right Wink I have eaten it already this pregnancy and my co-worker who is also pregnant has low iron and has been trying to eat it - I say try bc she doesnt find it as yummy as I do.

I did have some for supper this evening... I guess I'll just apply the moderation rule!

Moderation. As for not being good for pregnant women specifically, never heard that and not really sure why it would be bad in moderation.

I read something about the amount of vitamin A in liver and that being bad for the baby...
