My name is Kimia and my husband and I are expecting our fourth child. We have one boy age 7, and two daughters age 4 1/2 and 2. I believe I was on the boards for just my last daughter...so October 2009, even though she was born in September of 09.
We are so excited to be having another baby. We started trying early fall and it took us about 2.5-3 months to conceive. I got my BFP on December 19, only 6 days before Christmas. I had been keeping track of my missed period and finally took a test 3 days after I had expected it to arrive. Since it was so close to Christmas I wanted to surprise my husband and tell him on Christmas day. That was the longest week of my life. It was sooo hard to keep it a secret and not show any symptoms or signs of anything different. He didn't have a clue.
I couldn't keep it all to myself so after 1 day of not telling anyone I finally broke down and told my 7 year old son. He swore that he would keep it a secret and he did! He did a great job of not telling anyone, especially my husband, and it was so nice to have him to share that with and talk about it in private.
On Christmas day, my husband unwrapped a gift labeled VIP. I wanted to make sure I knew which one it was so I could record it. I had taken 3 different tests, all which showed up positive, and then wrapped them inside a newborn baby diaper, then put them in a little shoe box. When he opened it and saw the diaper he froze, and said..."Is this what I think it is?" Then he proceeded to open the diaper and saw the tests and said..."Really?" He got tears in his eyes and then crawled over to where I was sitting filming him and gave me the biggest hug. It was a great moment.
Anyway, based on my LMP I am due on August 22, 2012. I have not been in to see my midwife yet. Life has been really busy and crazy for us the last couple months so I haven't had a chance to think about it. I think I am going to schedule an appointment around 12 weeks. I am 9 weeks exactly today.
I am excited to share this pregnancy with you all and get to know all you August Mamas and follow you on your journeys also. Thanks for reading!
