It's a .....

Girl!
We have a 2yr old DS (birthday tomorrow) and DH and I were sure this was a boy again but it is a girl.
Funny enough Dhs grandma and my dad are the most excited. My dad is excited because a) girls are special, b) he can't wait to dress her in frilly outfits, and c) he worried that we would keep having babies until we got a girl and didn't want to see me (his daughter) go through pregnancy and labour over and over to get a girl. (DH and I had already decided we were done no matter what and we were quite content with having two boys - but looks like we will have one of each!).

No we have not picked a name yet - we haven't even talked about it. We had a pretty big fight about DS's name last time because I felt that DH committed us to family names on his side by telling his family both the boy and girl name he was thinking about (that he presented apparently as names we had all but chosen). So in the end we had an ugly moment after his mom visited and told me that Chris had told her the chosen names. I set her straight but was very upset with DH for bringing other people into the conversation before we had really even talked about it - they had had their chance to name their kids and had done so.
This time I am expecting another battle as when we chose DS's name (William) the leading girls's name (had it been a girl) was Elizabeth - these are the names of DH's married grandparents and I find it weird to want to reincarnate your grandparents in your kids's names..... so he agreed at the time that if we went with William for DS then the daughter would not have a first name of Elizabeth - but that remains to be seen. (I am pretty sure he will want Elizabeth - in which case, here we go again!).
Sigh.
