When's your due date: August 24, 2012
... so that makes you how far along: 28w1d

Do you have other children? What are their ages: This is #1!

Next appt: ... 2 hours! haha

Sex of the baby: It's a BOY!

Any names picked out: I "think" we are pretty set on Liam Edward. Edward is NOT my favourite choice for a middle name; but, it has special meaning to DH!

How are you preparing for birth: Researching... haha

Who will be with you at the birth: It will be DH and my mom with me!

How are you preparing for baby: I'm still trying to get everything we need for when the baby arrives! I'll be heading out again this weekend to do some shopping!

Anyone coming to stay/help once baby arrives: Mom will be staying for about a month or so! Once she leaves and DH is back to work (he works away), I'll be on my own!

How are you feeling: I've been feeling pretty great - except for some increased fatigue! I'm hoping the iron supplement works it's wonders and helps me out in that department! Other than that, I really have nothing to complain about! It's been pretty smooth sailing since the end of the first trimester! We'll see how all that changes once the heat arrives, though... haha

What's the one thing that has surprised you most about this pregnancy: I don't think anything has really surprised me; but, with this being my first pregnancy, I'm just in awe at the movement! I love, love, love it!

Anything else you want to share: Nope!

... so that makes you how far along: 28 weeks

Do you have other children? What are their ages: Son,William, he's 20mo

Next appt: June 14, I had a midwives appointment and my one and only U/S! WOOT!

Sex of the baby: Surprise!

Any names picked out: Nope, this will be the nameless baby Sad

How are you preparing for birth: I picked up my birth ball the other day, I haven't inflated it yet, but I will be within the week. I've also been reading affirmations. I love them! Biggrin

Who will be with you at the birth: My Husband, Mom, two sisters (for labour support), and MIL (to watch DS)

How are you preparing for baby: I need to pick up diapers, but that's about all we need. We haven't everything else required for baby... oh and a double stroller, but my sister has offered me her double, so we'll use that!

Anyone coming to stay/help once baby arrives: Nope, DH and I will be doing it on our own. I'm sure we'll have family pop in from time to time, but I don't want anyone staying with us. If someone wants to come for an hour, spend 30 min with me and 30 min tidying the house/cooking/laundry... then thats fine by me! But we won't be having any house guests. We want the first few days with our LO to be as "us" as possible. I don't want a parade of people in and out of my house like I did with DS. I need the time to bond.

How are you feeling: Pretty good. I've been having rib pains lately. This happened with DS and I'm getting it again. It's so annoying, and of course, painful. I'll be happy once they stop.

What's the one thing that has surprised you most about this pregnancy: How much bigger I am. I weigh about 15-20lbs less than I did with DS, but my belly is bigger. I guess a second pregnancy will do that.

Anything else you want to share: Not that I can think of Biggrin

When's your due date: August 16th
... so that makes you how far along: 29 weeks 1 day!

Do you have other children? What are their ages: Yes - twins Gabriella and Isabella who are 9, and Deborah who will be 8 in August.

Next appt: I just had one 2 days ago... my next one is June 14th

Sex of the baby: It's a BOY!

Any names picked out: First name will either be James, Joshua, Jonathan or Joseph. Middle name is Andrew.

How are you preparing for birth: Going to birthing classes with my DH, doing Kegels regularly, pumping up my protein intake, and becoming as educated as possible in natural childbirth. I'm thinking about calling about a few prenatal chiropractic sessions at my birth instructor's suggestion - she thinks that my pelvis may be out of alignment based upon some of my physical pain.

Who will be with you at the birth: DH, my doula, and my OB.

How are you preparing for baby: *sigh* right now I feel like we are at a standstill. Still haven't started construction on the room. But we have a lot of the big stuff we need - crib, high chair, car seat stroller, ring sling, breast pump...just got my Arm's Reach Co-sleeper on Tuesday, and desperately need to get moving on diapers (cloth). We have a LOT of little things to get...

Anyone coming to stay/help once baby arrives: DH is planning to stay home from work for 2 weeks. Other than that, I'm flying solo. Though I'm sure my mom will be over all the freaking time. lol

How are you feeling: All in all, pretty good. Lots of muscular and joint pain in my pelvis and hip areas, and dragging tired... but I found out my iron is low, so now I'm working on fixing the tired part. lol

What's the one thing that has surprised you most about this pregnancy: How different it is from my previous pregnancies!!

Anything else you want to share: Ummmmm... no! Wink Wait, YES. LOL I just found out last night the the hospital that I am delivering at has the 3rd highest C-section rate in the state... and I'm not exactly happy about that. *sigh* I was pumped about the hospital before, based on conversations I had with some of the nurses, etc. And I know that C-sections also have a lot to do with your doctor, too, so I need to have faith that I can have the natural childbirth I am working for. I'm just afraid that if my doc can't be at my birth that I may be screwed! I'm even more thankful, now, that I hired my doula...

When's your due date:
... so that makes you how far along: 27 weeks, 1 day - EDD 30 Aug but with twins, NLT 16 Aug (they wont let me go past 38 wk)

Do you have other children? What are their ages: 2 DD - 16 and 4

Next appt: 11 June

Sex of the baby: 1 DD & 1 DS

Any names picked out: Still going back and forth with DH - I think either Emmett Masen & Esme Rose (my choice) or Isabella Imani and Christian Masen (our compromise)

How are you preparing for birth: Birth? Not so much yet, still working on the babies homecoming and everything they need

Who will be with you at the birth: We can only have 1 person in the room that will be DH and then my mom, his mom and my DD's will be standing by

How are you preparing for baby: We pretty much have the nursery set up, I need several little things and the only 2 big ticket items are a dresser and a rocking chair to feed them

Anyone coming to stay/help once baby arrives: Well my in-laws will be visiting but not staying too long to help that is... but the good part is DH will be home to help!

How are you feeling: Overall, good - just have my days where I am exhausted!

What's the one thing that has surprised you most about this pregnancy: That its twins LOL

Anything else you want to share: Nothing really...

... so that makes you how far along: almost 26 weeks

Do you have other children? What are their ages: Yes, Harlee Paige, age 4 (5 on June 29th)

Next appt: 6/7/12 - doctor and ultrasound

Sex of the baby: Identical boys!

Any names picked out: Rayce Michael and Ryin Austin

How are you preparing for birth: I'm mentally preparing for a c-section.

Who will be with you at the birth: If it's vaginal, it will be DH, my mom and sister; if c-section, just DH. SIL will watch DD.

How are you preparing for baby: We moved our DD into our spare room which is smaller - she got to paint her walls ORANGE! We are going to have a yard sale and then redo the other bedroom. I have been buying diapers when I have coupons, we got some clothes, a double stroller and have a lead on another crib. Still LOTS to do!!

Anyone coming to stay/help once baby arrives: No one will stay, but my mom and sister will be there alot.

How are you feeling: Mostly ok - tired sometimes and things are stretching, so it's painful at times!

What's the one thing that has surprised you most about this pregnancy: That is was TWINS! Smile

Do you have other children? What are their ages: DS Kaden, 3 years

Next appt: 6/12

Sex of the baby: Another Boy

Any names picked out: Drake Alexander

How are you preparing for birth: Not much at this point. I've been looking back at my birth plan from DS, it will pretty much stay the same. Things went really well last time and hopefully will this time.

Who will be with you at the birth: DH and hopefully my mom.

How are you preparing for baby: Finally got the dresser set up and all he clothes washed and put away. Need to wash the cloth diapers, but I'm still trying to decide what detergent to use. Need to set the cradle up, need it delivered first! My dad will bring it up eventually. Other than that we are mostly set. Still need a new changing pad and the get the diaper sprayer, but those are smaller things to get done.

Anyone coming to stay/help once baby arrives: My mom will come up when I go into labor (2 1/2hr drive for her) and then stay a week. My dad and step-mom will come up the following week, probably not a whole week, but that's what I'm putting down. My sister will fly in at some point, IDK when. My grandparents will come Labor Day weekend for a week. I've got no idea about DH's family! His parents run a restaurant and are closed on mondays, so they will probably come up that first Monday after he's born and leave the same day. DH's brother (one of them) and his family live 30mins away, so they will be in and out I'm sure. I actually look forward to so much help. I'll have someone there for almost a full month after he's born, then DS1 will start preschool so I'll time alone with DS2.

How are you feeling: Exhausted! DS has been bouncing off the walls for the last week and all I want to do is nap. Last weekend was insanely hot here too, so I didn't want to eat or do anything. Food still seems kinda icky even though it's cooled off.

What's the one thing that has surprised you most about this pregnancy: How fast it's gone! I thought DS was a short pregnancy...really, it was, weird story. This time it seems like I have no time left anymore and I don't know where it all went.

Anything else you want to share: Had a Level 2 ultrasound wednesday because his right kidney was really dialated, almost double the left and it looked like there was a blockage. This time it was fine! He was measuring at 3lbs 1oz and the kidney looks a lot better. Still a little big but back within the normal range. DS1 had the same issue at birth and had to go to the Children's Hospital because he struggled to pee and it was wanting to back flush through his system, so they've been keeping an eye on him. Good to know it's back to normal for now. Hoping it stays now. He's head down finally now which I figured for where he's been kicking lately.

When's your due date:
August 22
... so that makes you how far along: 28 weeks, 3 days

Do you have other children? What are their ages:
3 other children. DS will be 8 in 2 days, DD1 just turned 5, and DD2 is 2 1/2 yrs. old.

Next appt: June 27...32 week appointment. And its on DH and mine 9 year wedding anniversary. Smile

Sex of the baby:
Surprise!!

Any names picked out:
We have a couple that we are thinking of but won't name the baby until he/she is born since its a surprise.

How are you preparing for birth:
I am reading a hypnobirthing book and will start practicing the techniques in the next few days to prepare as I am planning an all natural unmedicated birth again in the hospital with my midwife.

Who will be with you at the birth:
DH, midwife, and 1 or 2 nurses I am guessing. No family this time.

How are you preparing for baby: Got the carseat down and scrubbed/cleaned it, set up the crib and bassinet, went through all my boxes and made sure I know where 0-3 months boy and girl clothes are, and also found neutral clothing for the first couple weeks.

Anyone coming to stay/help once baby arrives: No one is coming to help...but DH will take at least 1 week off work and most likely it will be 2 weeks off when baby is born.

How are you feeling:
I am feeling pretty good. Just having a hard time sleeping at night and getting comfortable as my legs fall asleep and I have to switch sides often. Not looking forward to the summer heat while this pregnant but will make sure I drink plenty of water and stay in the shade if I am outside or have the a/c on when in the house. Got my ceiling fan blowing on my all night when the nights get too hot, so that helps.

What's the one thing that has surprised you most about this pregnancy:
Probably the one thing that has surprised me the most is how easy it is to not know the babys gender. You would think I would be going crazy not knowing, but it is not a problem at all. We found out with our first three and are being surprised for this one. I am very laid back about it.

Anything else you want to share:
My hormones this time around have been like a rollercoaster. I am sure DH can't wait for that part to be over with. I must say I do enjoy the constant foot rubs from DH though because I am pregnant. That is heaven for me. Smile

When's your due date: August 19th ish (can't remember for sure)
... so that makes you how far along: 28ish weeks I guess

Do you have other children? What are their ages: DD1 is 13, DS is 3 and DD2 is 20 months

Next appt: just had one a few days ago so now I don't go back for 4 weeks

Sex of the baby: A surprise

Any names picked out: not even close Smile

How are you preparing for birth: Hypnobabies and immersing myself in the natural birth environment and avoiding mainstream birth as much as humanly possible

Who will be with you at the birth: just me and DH

How are you preparing for baby: haha! I'm not really. I have most everything I'll need in storage. At some point I'm hoping to get it all cleaned up but really what do they need in the first few months. I did recently buy a ring sling so between that, my boobs and my CD's, I guess I'm all set Biggrin

Anyone coming to stay/help once baby arrives: nope. it would make me crazy having an extra person around. i get into a new routine better with the kids if left alone. i don't even like DH being here longer than I actually "need" him to be.

How are you feeling: Fantastic! I love the 3rd trimester, no more sickness, energy returns and I just love love love feeling my LO move about in there!

What's the one thing that has surprised you most about this pregnancy: How incredibly bittersweet it was going to be knowing it's my last time to be pregnant Sad

Anything else you want to share: we are working on one last major remodel project in our newly purchased house and if it doesn't get done (started!) soon I'm going to lose my temper!! Smile

When's your due date:8/5/12
... so that makes you how far along: 31 weeks

Do you have other children? What are their ages: DS Will, 2 years

Next appt: every two weeks for the next little while (just had last monthly one this past week)

Sex of the baby: Team Pink! (We were convinced it was a boy so finding out that it was a girl was a shock)!

Any names picked out: Not yet - I suspect DH thinks he knows what the name will be - but he is wrong. There will likely be many conversations and discussions. DH wants family names (specifically HIS family!) and is very traditional. I don't care about family names or tradition - I want whatever we chose / we both want!

How are you preparing for birth: Not much and not much planned. Pre-registered with the hospital today but not doing pre-natal classes this time. I am going to read the Happiest Baby on the Block (read Baby Whisperer last time) but think I will rely on my gut instincts more this time. Will talk to doctor closer to delivery date to ensure she knows I ONLY want her or an OB to do any stitching if required (I had big problems with the stitches put in by the resident last time). Things went really well last time and hopefully will again this time. Want pain meds only if/when requested (last time one shot of morphine and laughing gas) and to be allowed to labour as naturally as possible. They put the monitor against my abdomen frequently last time and I found even that very uncomfortable. I just want to relax and focus on the job at hand and experience the labour.

Who will be with you at the birth: DH and hopefully my mom who is a maternity nurse from another town. (She came in to the delivery room pre-pushing to say hi last time and I wouldn't let her leave so she helped and coached and was amazing to have there! I NEVER would have thought I would have wanted her there but it felt right and worked out great last time so if DH is on board then I would love to have her there and my dad can take care of DS).

How are you preparing for baby: Need to buy a dresser but have everything else. Have been going through the boxes of DS's clothes and creating thirft shop piles - we were given soooo much stuff we hardly need anything for this baby!.

Anyone coming to stay/help once baby arrives: My mom and dad will likely come when I go into labour (as they did last time). My MIL also will come as well at the same time. Once DH is scheduled to go back to work (shift worker - 12 hour shifts, days and nights) then I will ask mom or MIL to come stay with me for 4 or 5 nights to help us get through the first set of shifts on our own. FIL will come up in late August for a visit. We aren't expecting other visitors - SIL is due with her first baby two weeks after me (and was one of our visitors / helpers last time).

How are you feeling: Suddently quite tired - just not feeling that well today for the first time. (I am just recently on blood pressure medication as my bp is inching up). Food is also not very appealing to me either - have lost my zest for food. I get sore ligaments if I move to quickly. Getting out of bed is getting tricky - and I pee like three times every night which is tiresome! I get short of breath easily too. But all in all I actually feel quite good overall - just big, second baby I guess.

What's the one thing that has surprised you most about this pregnancy: How fast it's gone - the first time around seemed much slower! I suspect that it feels so fast because this is the last pregnancy for us so I am dreading closing that chapter! Despite the sleep deprivation and challenges being a mom has been incredible and soooo much more fulfilling and fun than I ever would have expected.

Anything else you want to share: I think that this second time around I will look back at my first go round and laugh at myself - things seemed so foreign and new and I was kind of like a deer in the headlights. This time I feel much less like a rookie!

When's your due date: Aug 25? (I think)

... so that makes you how far along: 28wks ish

Do you have other children? What are their ages: DSS 13, DD 3, DS 20mo

Next appt: June 13

Sex of the baby: ?

Any names picked out: I don?t think we?ve had a conversation other than ?Huckleberry? was fun (DSS got The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn for his birthday). I still like the names we picked out for the previous kids so I don?t know how much discussion we will have!

How are you preparing for birth: Prepare? Should I be doing that? LOL. I guess I?m preparing by getting all sorts of big jobs out of the way ? building a back yard veggie garden, a windrow, taking a class that finishes in July, helping DSS with his homework, etc? We probably have a couple things we need to get for the birth kit, but we?ve never used most of them so I don?t know what they are! The only reason to replace stuff would be because they have expiry dates that have gone past, or the supplies were taken for other things (DD took all the straws!).

Who will be with you at the birth: Hmm, I guess we should start organizing that too. Home birth so DH, and the little ones, and hopefully DSS. Then we have to figure out who our birth team is. Our choice of birth team will not be able to come on a moment?s notice, and my births are generally fast enough that they would need to? Hmmm?

How are you preparing for baby: oh? I think toilet training DS would be a good plan.

Anyone coming to stay/help once baby arrives: My mother (gardenbug) is planning to come help for a little while (don?t know how long), and DH is hoping to take some holidays. If things go according to plan, DH may get 3 weeks off about when baby is born.

How are you feeling: Exhausted ? but I think that?s mostly due to not sleeping well due to other stresses.

What's the one thing that has surprised you most about this pregnancy: Was something supposed to surprise me? Hmmm? How physically great I?ve been feeling for the past month ? not too tired until this past week.

Anything else you want to share: We?ve been working our butts off on redoing our back yard, and it?s really come together over the past weekend. In fact, it?s come together even more nicely than I ever expected and though DH was skeptical to begin with, he?s just couldn?t stop saying how the whole feel of the yard has changed, and he wants to be out there constantly. I can?t wait until our veggies start growing (I planted a whole bunch of seeds yesterday), and it will be even nicer. DH is also very happy about how his body has re-shaped itself over the past 3 weeks due to all the heavy physical labour! And our two little ones are just awesome helping out with building raised beds and stuff. It?s wonderful!

How are you preparing for birth:

Who will be with you at the birth: DH

How are you preparing for baby: Need to start getting organized and getting things put together.

Anyone coming to stay/help once baby arrives: Nope.

How are you feeling: Much better this week.

What's the one thing that has surprised you most about this pregnancy: How much this baby moves in comparison to the last and just how fast it has gone by.

When's your due date:
August 5th
... so that makes you how far along: 31 weeks (32 tomorrow!)

Do you have other children? What are their ages: Just kitties

Next appt: June 14th

Sex of the baby:
GIRL!

Any names picked out: Sophia Taylor

How are you preparing for birth: Well the shower is done, so now we are just getting the things that we still need but honestly she could come tomorrow and we would be ready for her. Her room is all set up for the most part and today I sat down with my breast pump and faced my fears! I got to know it, read the little booklet, asked it what the hell it wants from me and I think we will be okay. Im planning to mostly BF but I want to do some pumping so DH has a chance to feed and bond with baby as well. Also looking into ordering myself a ring sling!

Who will be with you at the birth: DH and my mother and sister both have open door invitations (unless they stress me out and then they have to go)

How are you preparing for baby: Just trying to keep my stress level down, eat healthy and incubate this little monkey till she is ready!

Anyone coming to stay/help once baby arrives: My mother and sister are both close and on standby to help and my MIL is in our same apartment complex so I know she is ready and willing to assist. Also DH's aunt is coming to stay with my MIL for two months when baby gets here so that she can take care of and watch DH's Uncle who I usually care for during the week. That way I can just focus on baby and getting on my feet. DH gets two weeks off work I think so that will be great.

How are you feeling: For the most part I am feeling just fine. Some days are harder emotionally, other days are harder physically, but overall I feel great. Im getting bigger, peeing a lot and turning from side to side during the night is a big fat pain in the butt! Also having some shortness of breath but nothing I can't handle.

What's the one thing that has surprised you most about this pregnancy: Not gaining a ton of weight THANK GOODNESS! Since I was already plus sized, I was very concerned about gaining weight strictly from a health perspective. I have been very fortunate to still be under my initial start weight.

Anything else you want to share: Ummmm...GO TEAM AUGUST!!!

ROFL BWAHAHAHA!! Hilarious!! I think it's great that you and your pump are getting to know each other... *giggle*
