Leg Cramps

So last night DH and I were having "adult time" and mid way through my entire right leg cramped up to the point I was nearly in tears! First DH felt bad because he thought he'd hurt me, but then he was worried...mostly about if this would become a normal thing (I hope not!). This morning when I tried to got out of bed it was still so sore I struggled to put weight on it for a while.

Has this ever happened to anyone else before? I had really bad sciatica with DS, but that was only for the last month or so. I can't imagine going through the next 26 weeks like this.

Increase your potassium, that is what always helps me with muscle cramps. Water and potassium. I have a banana for breakfast and one for snack every day during pregnancy because otherwise I get miserable leg cramps. It doesn't usually happen to me until later in pregnancy though.

I haven't had any issues with them this time around, but I did have a ton of Charlie Horses with my previous pregnancies. They were brutal and always happened when I was in bed... the pain was always so intense that the soreness in my muscles would last days.

It's normal - increase your Potassium AND you Magnesium intake (Magnesium helps your body absorb the Potassium)...

Good luck!

Oh Boy!! I have had those every single night since 8 weeks!!!!! I had them with DD but not until 6 months. They are very frustrating and for me, completely ruin my sleep. I'm sorry you have this.

YES, thank you. I knew there was another nutrient I was missing but for the life of me could not get the word Magnesium to come to mind!

Drinking Dill Pickle juice is supposed to help. Haven't tried it yet though Smile
