Maternity Swimming suits...ugh

Seriously, I feel like I've tried on dozens and nothing that I like. We've got family passes to our city pool for the summer, and DS loves it. Last year we were there almost everyday, and I anticipate the same thing this year. It's great with their separate toddler pool that only goes to 2 feet, he can sit and play and I can sit and float.

I have a hard enough time finding a regular swimsuit to wear, and I still get a pair of shorts to wear over them. Not gonna lie, I'm to lazy to 'clean up' down there all the time, especially with DS on the move. Not saying I don't do it at all, just not high on my priority list.

So I went to Motherhood Maternity yesterday in hopes o finding either shorts or a skirt (not crazy over skirts, but better than nothing) suit, NO LUCK! All they had were bikini cut. Let's be honest, if I'm too lazy when I'm not pregnant, how do you think I feel about it not that I am. Not that I could even see to do the job anyway. I asked the sales girl if they would be getting any and she looked at me like I was crazy. I'm not crazy about 2 piece suits as it is, and most of the maternity ones I've seen are, which is fine since they actually cover plenty.

I'm just so frustrated in trying to find something. Anyone else find one they really like or have a recommendation on where they found one.

This probably won't help you, but I've just been using my two piece regular swim suit. It's got boy-short bottoms and the top is long enough that it will only show a bit of my belly as I get bigger, I think. But I can't even tell you where it's from because it's a hand-me-down from my aunt... lol

Melissa, you think like me. I love Target. I went there to get a few groceries and decided to check. They had the best selection of just about anywhere. I got:

Top: http://www.target.com/p/Liz-Lange-for-Target-Maternity-Bandeau-Stripe-Tankini-Swim-Top-Mulicolor/-/A-13942301
Bottom: http://www.target.com/p/Liz-Lange-for-Target-Maternity-Swim-Shorts-Black/-/A-13987035

I saw a couple that you posted at ours but they just seemed to sit wrong, either they fit my belly or my chest, not both. Go figure. Same problem I have when not preg just switched. Normally need a bigger chest then tummy, not anymore!

:lurk:

Not specifically maternity, but Lands End has lots of great suits. You can buy separate tops and bottoms and they even have some takini tops that are very "flowy" so they would make excellent maternity suits.

Wal-Mart has maternity suits.

I just wear a bikini. If people can't handle the belly that's their problem! LOL!

I feel uncomfortable in a bathing suit to begin with; so, I don't know how often you'll find me in one this summer! haha

I did too! My sent a pic of it to my sister to see what she thought. Her response? "Stripes make a person look bigger" If I could reach through the phone to VA and smack her I would have. I'm pregnant! Of course I looker bigger, I am!

Wow - I could help you strangle her... Wink I LOVE the vibrant colors and the stripes. Honestly, are you supposed to hide behind a drapey coverup when you're pregnant? I mean, pregnancy is not exactly a time of your life when you are worried about looking skinny... ;p

We were just discussing this very thing a few days ago. DS is wanting so much to go to the waterpark when it opens on the 29th. We are trying to do as much as we can with him before Gavin arrives. I saw a few cute ones at Wal-Mart. They weren't even Maternity but I think they'd be fine.
