Music, Books, etc.

We are all getting to the point where the baby can hear and is already able to hear in utero. I'm curious if anyone, especially, the BTDT moms, play music, read books, etc. while baby is in utero and, if so, what would you recommend?

I suggest doing the things you enjoy most yourselves. Listen to (and SING) what YOU love, relax and read what YOU like. Being relaxed and calm and happy is what I think works best for all. Also chat with your partner and perhaps baby will find contentment in both your voices.

ahhh my poor babies, they always have to hear mama belt out tunes in the car and at home. My kids love music and we play it all the time. My kid will probably be tone deaf from hearing me LOL

I don't specifically read to the baby in utero... really, they wouldn't be able to hear the words, anyway - just the muffled sounds. I suppose Baby D ends up hearing me read when I read to my older kids. I just think that singing as I usually do in the car and the shower, and talking in general, esp. with DH, will be enough to make my voice familiar to Baby D... Smile

I sing all the time. No matter what I'm doing. I'm always either practicing scales or singing along to something I'm practicing for. Even DS asks why I'm always singing. Just can't help it!

Bwahahaha!!! Count my kid in too Biggrin I LOVE LOVE LOVE to sing. I'm terrible at it but I love to do it anyway! If you turn the car radio up loud enough and sing to a song it's like you're every bit as good as the songs original singer Lol

We are a music household, there is ALWAYS a radio on in my house playing who knows what depending on my mood at the time. DH is pricing a whole house stereo for me. We had one in the house we just moved out of that we had installed and I lived and breathed that thing. When we moved it was one of the most important "to do" things on my list. So, this poor LO in my belly is going to come out and hear a real song and be like, really mom, you probably don't need to be singing anymore Smile
