Sleep

How is everyone sleeping? I've started noticing that, for about the last week or so, I've been having really broken sleep - partly due to needing to go to the bathroom and partly due to the new discomfort I've been experiencing in my hips! I've been trying to avoid sleeping on my back, since I've heard you should avoid it; so, I'm stuck between flip flopping from side to side. I don't know if the discomfort is from position or from just laying on one side for too long. I'm beginning to think it's a combination of both since I'm also noticing that my stomach is feeling much heavier! I bought a body pillow this afternoon and I'm going to see if I can better position myself throughout the night! Does anyone have any tips, etc.?

I'm right there with you! I flip from side to side all night. I will say that my bladder hasn't been waking me as often as it was earlier on. The pillow should help a lot with hip discomfort! I don't even want to imagine sleep difficulties at 8 months..what fun to look forward to!

I was thinking the SAME thing! If I'm having difficulty at four months, I don't even want to think about eight/nine months!

I've been having trouble because of the whole having to pee 8 times a night and I'm getting bigger so if I want to turn over, I have to wake up to do it because it is such an ordeal! Lol! I'm also trying not to sleep on my back because yeah, not good. Buy I don't have trouble sleeping on my sides. For a while my sciatic nerve would bother me because I swear the baby was using it for a pillow! I've only had trouble with my hips one night but keeping a pillow between my knees helps a lot in regards to hip and sciatic pain. Good luck mommy! We need the sleep while we can get it!

I pack myself in with pillows. DH is preparing himself to move to the guest room any night now hahahaha!

I'm up once a night to nurse DS, and of course have to make a bathroom break. But other than that my sleep isn't tooooo bad - yet! It will get there.
I am already dreading the end of pregnancy insomnia!

I can fall asleep great! it's usually around 4am that I start waking up, my alarm goes off at 5am, but I get up at 4:30. I know it will get worse because I don't like to face DH when he's sleeping (think morning breath intermingled LOL) so my hip goes numb in the middle of the night from laying my pregnant arse on the same side all night long.

My pregnancy pillow is coming out tonight so it probably won't be long until DH finds himself another bed in the house to inhabit Smile Once I get the pillow out it will help a lot! But yeah, this is about as good as it gets for a while now (at least for me from past experience). I find though that I do sleep a bit better later in pregnancy because of full on exhaustion mostly, but even then I'm up several times a night. I figure it's a great way to get used to interrupted sleep

Oddly enough I'm still sleeping fine. I hate to say that and now tonight will horrible probably. With DS it was 26wks or so before I was struggling in the sleep dept. I'd love to make it that long with this one, but I doubt it since I'm bigger than I was then. So far my biggest problem is round ligament pain when I roll over too quickly.

I'm actually sleeping pretty well right now - way better than I was in the beginning when I felt so sick and had to pee all the time. However, I sleep on my sides (always have), and I've noticed that my left hip is really getting sore - sore enough that it goes numb during the day sometimes. It's really bothering me!

I sleep good for the first three or four hours per night then it's waking up constantly until the alarm goes off. I kind of dread it.

I've noticed that the body pillow has been helping - except when I need to get up to go to the bathroom! I'm also noticing the last couple of days that my hips have been hurting (it's more just a discomfort or stretching) so I'm guessing I'll be popping a bit more in the next little while!
