Ummmm... PERSONAL BUBBLE?????

Here's my own rant...

Monday I stopped at the home improvement store to pick up some door stops. I got to the aisle, and this woman looks at me and immediately asks me when my baby is due. I told her in a couple of weeks. Then she asked me what it was and PUT HER HAND ON MY STOMACH! ARGH! DON'T EFFING TOUCH ME IF I DON'T KNOW YOU! Anyone else - FINE. I have a coworker who keeps wanting to feel the baby, but I'm okay with it, especially since she ASKS. It was so uncomfortable and I was so close to telling her off, but I smiled and went on my way. And maybe I'm lucky because this is the first time that's happened to me so far this pregnancy. But THEN it happened to me again today at lunch!!

Why do people believe that they have a right to touch you when you're pregnant? It pisses me off!

Rude. People just see a pregnant woman and I swear, all common sense goes out the damn window! I was at a martial art tournament with DH and this woman comes up to me and starts asking me what my plans are for breastfeeding. Ummm...can I get your name first maybe before we start discussing my lactation plans?! Really?! And seriously, if you wouldn't approach someone normally and start copping a tummy feel, why would you think it is okay for someone who is pregnant? Thankfully everyone I've encountered has asked and I haven't had any issues...but woe be to the person who doesn't!!

I absolutely hate it when a stranger does that! It makes me so mad. If its someone I know and they ask, then fine with me. But not a stranger in a grocery store or some other random place. People have no concern for personal space that is for sure.

And I can't believe that other woman was asking about breast feeding plans??!! Wow. I would shut her up pretty quickly if it were me. That is none of their business.

I am pretty open and casual about people I know touching my stomach. It doesn't bother me so much and Gavin seems to love the attention.

If a stranger did that... I'd have a hard time not decking them. I find that people in Wal-Mart try to hit me with their cart or get mad when I can fit through a small space when trying to go around them. I shoved a woman's cart out of the way once when she got rude with me about it. lol.

Ladies, don't you know that a pregnant woman's body is public property?!

I had a stranger come up to me when I was pregnant with DS, she said "you look adorable"... so I touched her stomach and said "you too". She gave me the dirtiest look! LOL! So it's okay to touch me, but I can't touch you?

So not cool!

See, you guys just don't take the opportunity to screw with people and get your jolly's! I absolutely love ignorant comments when I'm out and about. I had a lady checker at walmart argue with me about due dates a month or so ago. She asked me when I was due. Here was the conversation, it had me laughing for days!

Her: when are you due?
Me: August
Her: No, what day in August?
Me: I don't know
Her: hasn't your dr told you
Me: I don't know
Her: When will you know when you need to have the baby by?
Me: um, when the baby comes out I guess I'll know when it's due
Her: you're dr tells you the due date sweetie
Me: But why does it matter
Her: so you know when you need to have your baby
Me: won't labor tell me when I need to have my baby?
Her: well, you need a date so you know
Me: what if the baby doesn't like the date the dr picks
Her: *eye roll* and finished checking me out and wished me the best of luck like I had NO FREAKING CLUE what I was doing

I seriously called my mom before I even made it to my car and almost peed my pants on the way out because I was laughing so hard. My mom says I should be nicer to people. I tell her people are around to humor me!!!

Go with it girls, use the ignorant people to amuse yourself, it's fun Biggrin

I love this! And I love your attitude. I think I will adopt it for myself. Its easier to be amused and play with people than let them annoy you. Smile

I hate anyone touching my belly- not even myself or DH most of the time. It's just annoying and feels icky (for lack of a better word). So if a friend asks I may say okay, but if someone just reached out, they may receive a quick karate-chop and serious bruise on their arm. I've done it once and got a really dirty look, but I don't think that person will EVER try it again on anyone!

OMG *dies* this is the best. Yes I agree, have fun with it. I certainly do.

Here's my little story. I brought DS2 to visit my work when he was 2 weeks old (early I know but he was such a good baby and DS1 was in daycare so I was bored lol) one lady, who I don't really get along with, looks at me all up and down and says "ooooh, you still have a belly eh?" and proceeds to RUB IT!!!!! So I rubbed hers and said "yes, I had a baby 2 weeks ago, yours was 25 years ago, what's your excuse" HA, suck on that biatch.....

ahem...now back to our regularly scheduled program lol

I understand. I didn't get it this time...but when I was a vet tech w/ #1...TONS of random people would touch my stomach.
A lot were repeat customers that would bring in their pets...or older cat ladies:0) that would rub on my belly...they meant to harm, but like you...it irked me!!!! At least ask?!?!!! My co workers and I would say that after they rubbed my belly, that I should go and rub all over their bellies...haha. EWWW! I would hate touching people, but could you imagine...haha!
I read some other posts and also have SOOO many people say, "Are you breastfeeding", "how is breastfeeding?", "Do you like BFing". WHAT!? I hated even telling people when I was due...lol.
