Vision Disturbances

Last evening (for about an hour) and this morning (for about 20 minutes or so), my left eye became "blurry" or "blotchy". I can only explain it as being similar to when there's heat around and it appears "wavy". Does that make sense? I checked my BP both days and it's been fine. What else could this be? It hasn't happened again; so, I haven't phoned the hospital or my doctor's office. I took out my contacts and have been wearing my glasses since it happened. Did anyone else ever experience something similar? I'm kind of hoping that, maybe, I just had my contacts in too long and my eyes just needed to breathe for a while.

So, it happened again this morning and I decided to call my doctor's office. The nurse told me to go straight to L&D to be monitored. So, I did... I was hooked up to the monitors to check the baby's heart rate and, even though it was within the normal range (150-165), it was high for this baby and that worried me. The physician and OB didn't seem concerned, though. When they checked my blood pressure, it was normal (somewhere around 125/70); but, again, still high for me considering my other blood pressures throughout the pregnancy. Since there was nothing in my urine or blood work, they weren't concerned. The OB did a quick ultrasound before I left to check fluid levels and everything is still looking great (as are baby's movements). So, not quite sure what was going on! We are home again and still scheduled for Friday!

:lurk:

I had that with my last pregnancy. Turned out to be an optical migrane. It really didnt hurt, but like you discribed, my vision was effected. I ended up taking some pain meds (for the tiny bit of head ache I did have) and napped. It just has to do with the hormones flowing Smile

Good to hear that things checked out. The difference in blood pressure can be due to the equipment I think. My doctor's office always gets a lower reading than the "automatic" one at the hospital. I had a few freakouts from their machines lol.

My eye doctor told me last pregnancy that vision changes and disturbances, such as blurriness and harder time focusing on things can happen. My eyes have been really light sensitive this time around.
