My youngest DD had a violin recital yesterday - she's been in violin for 2 years, now, and she is finally beginning to like it. I thought I'd share the pictures - she looks so beautiful and she did great! She made me so proud!!

She's so pretty and I love her dress!
Both DH and I took violin lessons as kids. It's a very tough instrument to learn and you KNOW how terrible you sound for the first little while. But then it starts to come together! I'm so glad Deborah is enjoying it now! What a cutie she is! Frame some of those pictures for her.
Awww, that is so wonderful!! Neither of my girls are in music but I have been considering doing piano lessons with the youngest one. Well see. Thats great, she is beautiful - congrats!!
Thanks, ladies... She makes me one proud momma! All three of my girls do, of course!
Great pictures, thanks for sharing. DS is really starting to get interested in music.. he sings all the time. I'm hoping that if he's still really interested in music when he starts school we can maybe start him in some kinda classes.
So cute! She's so adorable. I'm glad she's starting to enjoy it now. Learning an instrument is so good for them, if they survive the first couple years! I started piano at 4 and still play everyday...along with other instruments that I enjoy but don't get as much time with anymore. DS is starting to really enjoy sitting and listening to me play, and asking how/why I do certain things. I want to start him now, but DH thinks it's too early (this from the guy who has never touched an instrument in his life) and will be too hard for him. He'll be 4 in Dec, so I might just wait until then at this point.
My nephew started piano when he was 4 and he is 6 now and already pretty darnned good! I say it's never too early!
Deborah has always been VERY musical... the kid sings every second of the freaking day. And violin just seemed like a good fit. What I am finding most valuable is that at 7, she already knows how to read music, which is fantastic! She comes by it all very honestly, though - I've always been very musical, too. And I used to play the cello, so I'm sure that I am the one who swayed her toward violin rather than piano. lol
Your daughter is beautiful!
