Awesome August Chat Thread :-)

I thought it might be fun to chat about stuff that isn't worthy of it's own post.

I'll start. I am just so excited because this pregnancy my kids really understand more. But I do worry about how to explain some stuff. My five year old keeps asking me, where's the baby? I rub my belly and he looks and says "where's the door?" He also asked me if the baby has clothes on in there ROFL Gotta love how kids think. My 7 year old said we should name the baby "clock". I told him it's about time he came up with a better idea.

Yeah, those questions could turn really tough in a matter of seconds!

Although I am happy about this pregnancy I am really nervous too. I'm wondering how I will have enough patience for three, and sleepless nights, and going through cold and flu season again with a baby just to name a few.

I've also felt much more yucky and tired this pregnancy than I did with the first two, so so far I haven't enjoyed the pregnancy like I remember it before enjoyable before.

On Monday I have an U/S and my second appointment. Hopefully everything will go well!

Yes, kids' questions are hilarious. DS1 was telling somebody the other day that 3 people in our family have a penis. But not Mommy. And did you know my Mommy and Daddy made a baby? This is from the kid who, when asked if DS2 was his new baby brother, replied "Yup, he came shooting out of Mommy's vagina!"

I have my second appointment on the 31st...sure hoping to hear a heartbeat, though I know it's early.

I definitely have worries about having a baby in the house again. With my older ones in school we are not going to be able to protect this one as well from germs. For me, sick kids are definitely the worst part of parenting. Having to start the older ones in school when baby is a few weeks old is going to be a challenge. School starts at 7:40 here, which I think is pretty early. If I have a c/s, I won't be cleared to drive yet, not sure how that will work since I drive them to and from school. My husband leaves for work at 4 am so he can't help. I know it will all work out, but I like to have everything worked out ahead of time.

And a random tip: I have a cold and am trying not to take meds. For the sore throat, frozen go-gurt was SO soothing. Only 70 calories each and some calcium too Smile

Uggghhh I'm definitely freaking out about having a fifth baby... Especially one that is so close in age to my youngest (they'll be 21 months apart). I finally have my first appt next Monday (the 28th), ill be ten weeks by that time. I'm hoping they'll do an early u/s so I can see the baby though!

I am anxious abouth having a third too. I am sure the initial adjustment will be a challenge.

Starryblue702, I hope you get your early US at your appointment next week. I have no idea what having 5 would be like, but my DS and DD are only 18ish months apart and after the first 3 or so months it becomes great to have them close together!

Rochelle, I'm very nervous about the first few months... Especially breastfeeding. I made it ten months with Trystan... And it was extremely difficult. He was the first baby I had where I was able to bf more than a few weeks. Idk if I just have a low supply or what, but I was so proud that I made it ten months, but yet so thankful when it was over! Now to have to start it all back up again, I'm exhausted just thinking about it. As far as the u/s goes, I'm really anxious to see if my dates are correct. We were practicing natural family planning when I got pregnant. I only had two periods since February 2011, between my last pregnancy and bf... I got my first one in october after I stopped bf and then had another one that showed Nov 16, and that was the last one lol. I thought I had my dates down (obviously I was wrong!) but I think I ovulated way later than I should have.

My first two are 16 1/2 months apart, and it was very busy but doable in the beginning. Smile

Krystal, my youngest will also be about 22 months apart. But my plan is to put my big kids to work, I've already started! My 3 yr old loves doing dishes, they all help make lunches, my 5 yr old loves to sweep... and DS1, my big 8 yr old is my babysitter. He also picks up my daughter from school (it's just around the block!)

Also, Stephanie, I can relate to not having help in the mornings. Next school year, I will have 2 in the same school, who both need to be on a bus at 7am - and I need to drive them to the bus stop! Thankfully, my community is very warm and I'm sure i'll be able to find help if I need it. Also, my husband works at a winery, and they will still be working harvest hours during Sept and Oct, which means that some weeks he'll be home in the mornings - having worked all night!

My youngest 2 girls are only 11 months and 3 weeks apart and I can tell you it is no walk in the park. lol. They are complete opposites and at the beginning it was pretty hard.. but now that Kay is talking a lot more and keira can walk it isn't so bad.. I really don't know how I am going to handle 5 children let alone 3 under 3 full time. ( we only have the 2 oldest boys 50% of the time) I am really hoping that Keira mellows out soon and that kay is potty trained. I really am not looking forward to 3 in diapers.

How was everyones weekend?

My weekend was great, if you ignore the constant nausea. We told my parents and my hubby's parents this weekend and everyone is just so excited. It's been about 6 years since anyone on either side has had a baby. Then, my husband's sister opened her mouth on FB... so now we are FB official, a little earlier than I expected. But oh well!

We are probably going to tell family for valentines day by having our kids give or send a special valentine. We waited a little longer than we wanted to because my brother and SIL announced a pregnancy very early and then they had a miscarriage (they said the due date was Sept 1). We didn't want to tell our news right after that. I still am not sure how to tell them (bro and SIL) but it has to be done.

In other news, both of my boys say that our baby is another boy. They also said they want it to be a boy. Hubby and I are the opposite, so we will see who is right in March.

I hope everyone is doing well and starting to feel better.

We've already told lots of people close to us. For most others, I don't really have any plans to tell them...just wait til they start looking at me "that way," I guess.

Had a great appointment today. Hearing the little ones heart beat is always so awesome! It was 157 today. Just 4 weeks away from getting to see our little guy or girl on the ultrasound! Hope all you ladies are doing well!
