Sorry I'm so in and out, ladies! I think about you all a lot, but most of the time that my computer is on, it's so my kids can watch a movie! and this site doesn't work at all on my phone
I did a little back reading on here to catch up with our little group, I responded to a few posts, I'll get to the rest I hope!!
So here's what's been going on since my last dramatic post:
firstly, since it's happening right now, I've been having a ton of BH contractions, since about 25 weeks. I know it's pretty normal, esp the more pregnancies you've had, but some of these really stop me in my tracks and feel pretty serious. I really do not want to have this baby early! there is soooo much to do before my due date!
So I don't even remember what was going on the last time I posted, we had been trying to move to a village very close to the town we now live in, but that didn't work out - looong story!!! not fun. So we started looking into other villages in the Golan, one of the ones that I've always loved but never has any available rentals had one little house for rent right next door to a friend of mine, so we went to check it out. It's small. 90 meters, 1 bathroom, the kitchen is teensy! But it has 3 bedrooms, it's a private house, it has a bathtub (!! which I don't currently have!!) there are a bunch of fruit trees and herbs (almond, loquat, lemon, clementines, grapefruit, pomegranate, grapes...) There are a lot of very sweet young families and tons of kids, and because it's a closed village the kids basically have free run of the place!
I am sad about leaving the town we live in, I love it here and have made a lot of friends. But I think this is right for the kids. DS1 and DD are going to school in the next village over - so they'll have neighbors that they go to school with, which they don't have here at all. It also means that the bus will pick them up at 8:10 and they can get there themselves! here I have to drive them to the bus stop every morning at 7am!! That also means that they can help me get DS2 and 3 to pre-school before their bus comes and the pre-school is in the center of the village right near the bus stop! And that is a major benefit, b/c DH will have to leave for work at 5:30am!
It's a pretty big move for us, especially considering that the English speaking community here - we built! When we came there were no other English speakers, almost all of the 18 families that have moved here in the past 4 years have come after being in contact with us, or staying at our house. In the village we're moving to, there are very few English speakers. We are totally fluent in Hebrew, but sometimes you want to have a cup of coffee with someone who speaks your language, kwim??
Also the reaction of every person we've told here is almost exactly the same: "What??!! You're leaving? How can you leave Katzrin??? You guys are Katzrin!" and then they calm down and wish us luck and say that everything is for the best, etc...! It feels really nice to know that we'll be missed, but...
In other news, DH's company took all the workers on a 5 day, expenses paid vacation to Spain! It was amazing and couldn't have come at a better time!! Aside from being really nice to meet more of DH's co-workers and their wives, we were in Costa Brava on the beach in a very nice hotel and it was absolutely lovely!! I put up pictures on fb, I'll have to put some here too, but definitely go find me on facebook!
My IL's came to stay with the kids and everything went beautifully, everyone co-operated and the big ones really helped out a lot. So that was completely awesome.
DS3 (20 months old) is in daycare this month so that I can pack in the mornings, so hopefully that will also give me a bit of alone time to get on the computer and pop in here more!
